The letter I received from my first GP after initial blood tests said "...your recent blood test confirms you have developed very early diabetes." To cut a longish story short I was subsequently sent on a short local course for people with T2 (it largely focused on the standard NHS healthy eating plate!) and I was prescribed gliclazide. My HbA1c at diagnosis 12 months ago was 102 and in July has fallen to 52. Hopefully when next tested in around February 2017 it will have dropped lower, as recently with a LCHF diet my own BG tests have shown a marked reduction.
My question is, is "Very Early Diabetes" a specific condition and if so what are the criteria for diagnosis?
My apologies for having to ask on here, but since last December I've only met with a GP for about 10 minutes back in January and that was when when I changed to a new practice.
