Very high BG reading

I was diagnosed probably type 2 a few days ago. May be latent type 1, not sure yet. I saw nurse today and I am on statins and 2 types of diabetes medication. My BG has been approx 17 last 3 mornings first thing and late 20's at night. I am a very keen indoor rower and exercised for 1st time in a week today. Just took my BG reading and my momitor just says Hi ( above 33.3 ). My wife is very worried. Any advice ? I'm not due to see nurse again til Tues. many thanks
 
hi, and welcome, I would call the out of hours doctor asap or go to a&e. the rule is when the monitors say's hi, seek urgent help. your urine needs to be check.
 
Hi. Yes if you are still quite young you may have LADA. If so as advised by others do monitor your sugar carefully and watch out for ketones; you can buy ketone sticks from the chemist or Amazon etc. Have adequate amounts of water. May be you are a real T2, but your GP can test for LADA if there is any doubt.
 
It's also advised not to exercise with high levels (I think over 13 rings a bell but someone will correct me if I'm wrong hopefully) as it will raise levels rather than lower them.
