Four Months ago I was prescribed Victoza (Liraglutide) for Type 2 Diabetes as it is supposed to help with weight loss. I think its a GP1 Group of meds. Anyone else prescribed this? Did it help with weight loss? I was very Nauseous to start with so did lose weight but now no side effects no further weight loss........................Not sure if I should keep taking it but the alternative is Insulin and I've heard you can gain weight on this. Would welcome any pros and cons....................TIA

I,m on victoza. Now 3now four months on it. The only side effect I had was indigestion. I lost weight to start with but now has stopped.

Yeah I've read a few reports about the weight loss ceasing after a few months so am starting to question continuing with it. I have also noticed my hair has gone a lot thinner in the last month or so, don't know if its Victoza! It's not mentioned on leaflet of side effects but only new drug I have taken in last 4 months so could well be................

Hi. I can't comment on Victoza itself as I've never used it but weight gain occurs with insulin only when you eat too many carbs. Are you having a low-carb diet currently? This is the best way to reduce weight and may even avoid the need for Victoza in the longer term possibly substituting with insulin?
