Hi
Can anyone tell me why I am unable to have victoza - I was told it would be my best next step (3000mg metformin and januvia no longer enough)
Then on my doctors appointment for victoza start I was told i was not fat enough and my BMI had to be higher to qualify for victoza perscription when I asked why I was told he did not know!! Any ideas please?

Huh? I know the helpful side effect of Victoza is weight reduction, but it seems crazy that it's barred if you're not overweight. So, what did they suggest instead? I'm sure the intention of the NICE guidelines isn't to miss those steps out completely and move onto insulin, or am I misunderstanding/mis-remembering?

Yes I would need to put weight on to be offered victoza. The last thing I want to do as its taken so long to loose weight in the first place:confused: I was told the only choice I have now is insulin:(

Yes, strange but the best thing is to keep trying to lose weight and then have insulin if it's still needed. Insulin works best if you are not overweight and hence insulin resistant. Are you low-carbing to get weight and blood sugar down?
