Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the availability of Victoza® (liraglutide injection).

Victoza® 6 mg/ml solution for injection in pre-filled pens have been out of stock for an extended period and will not be returning to stock. This decision is not due to a safety or quality concern with the product

I see Diabetes UK updated their response to the shortages last month

Our response to serious supply issues of drugs for people with type 2 diabetes

The global shortage in supply was partly due to a surge in off-label prescriptions of the drug semaglutide being issued for weight loss, which was exceeding supply. Previously (since the summer of 2023) all stocks of GLP-1 RAs had to be reserved for those already using these medications...

Hi @Jwnich , I was on Victoza throughout most of 2023, but it became more and more difficult to get, so early this year I was switched to Rybelsus tablets. They have proved to be as effective for blood sugars and weight control, along with a low carb diet. Maybe suggest this to your GP in case they aren’t aware of Diabetes UK’S guidance.
