So glad of your weight lose. I am also taking metforminJust had my one month review to see how its going and the diabetic nurse has confirmed a loss of 7kgs and happy to continue to let me be on victoza. I do still have to lose a shedload of weight but this was the first progress I have made in 2 years. It seems to work differently for everyone. Are you taking anything else with the Victoza?

My advice is to stick with it and try your best to put up with the horrid side effects because they do start to ease off a little after about a month and by the end of the 2nd month you will be through the worst of it, By the end of 3 month you will be functioning almost the same as you did before swinging onto Victoza. I have been on it for years and not only kept the initial weight loss off but also my Hb1Ac now comes in averaging between 6 and 6.5%. I was the first in the area to trial Victoza and I was very pleased to have been chosen from all the other T2's in the doc's practice.Hi,I'm new to this would appreciate some advice. Hi Carol,
I believe you may be our only member on Victoza, so it would be really helpful if could keep us updated on how you get on with it, any problems or side effects you encounter, what effect it has on your weight and BGs, etc. Your experiences could be very useful to others who may be offered Victoza.
I started Victoza in March 2018 when my Hba1c was 61, I have had no side effect, lost 36 pounds and today my new Hba1c result is 39, I only take 0.6mg a day I did not feel well on 1.2mg. Have had great results on testing sugar levels, mornings now in 5/6 range rather than 9/11. Through testing I do know that carbs are not good for me so try sticking to low carb diet (I do enjoy a baked potato from time to time).Re: Victoza mentioned on This Morning

I started Victoza this week. I'm feeling hunger pangs also. Evcn with drinking more water. So far I've had on and off nausea, but not real bad. I'm concerned about feeling so hungry right now. Otherwise I've been ok on Victoza.re: Victoza
I was diagnosed as a type 2 in 2009 I started on Metformin. During the last 2 years my controlled diabetes had gone from 7.5 and spiralled up to around 15, most of it was to do with stress other tablets were given to me, but I just kept being so ill with viruses and had to put pressure on my GP via the hospital after a fall. I've lost weight slowly during this time but my sugars just stay high. . It took ages to get a referral to the diabetic specialist and now after a month of testing and recording. They have been 10.3 - 13 first thing in the morning and at their highest in the evening have been 19-20. I try to eat healthier realise the starchy stuff needs to be reduced and they have now put me on Victoza and continuing the Metformin, I'm praying it will help.
I started Victoza 0.6 since Saturday night but from Monday afternoon I started getting hunger pangs have tried drinking more water to help, but just keep thinking I'm hungry, has anybody else had this problem or will it change once I go up to the next dose on Saturday?

i never experienced heartburn. Definitely speak with the Doc and I'd contact Novo (makers of Victoza) they were helpful when i had questions early on. I found the Novo support people had a much deeper understanding of drug-drug interactions, side effects, etc... plus they were really supportive wanting me to be comfortable with the answers.I started Victoza one week ago and tomorrow will be the day that I move from 0.6 to 1.2.
Last few days i have been suffering from heavy heartburn that I believe is a side effect. It is so heavy that I am rluctant in increasing dosage until I get used to it.
Anybody has passed the same situation?
Any advice on stopping heartburn, please?
