Got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at the start of February and I'm on 2 metformin in the morning and 2 at night. 18 units of humilin I at night and on weds started 0.6 of victoza.

Basically just here for a moan as I feel SO SICK. Not actually being sick but violently boaking and it's making me so miserable. I understand from previous threads that this is quite a common side effect, will it settle down though?

My levels have dropped quite significantly which is great but wondered if that was anything to do with it also?

I used Victoza over 6 years ago and suffered with nausea.
As your body adjusts to the medication side effects should ease. If not? Go back to see the Doctor.
 
I am on victoza, in the first week it made me feel very bloated. After that, no problems
 
Hi. Do you have excess weight? This is normally the reason to add Victoza to Metformin and from other posts it does have some side-effects. Are you having a low-carb diet now?

Hi. That's really good to hear. I would hope that as your weight is going down that the need for the Victoza will fade and that you can perhaps rely on Metformin after discussion with the GP and perhaps continue with the insulin as well if needed.

Got a phone call yesterday to let me know my antibody test was positive so now confirmed as being type one, so now off the victoza and metformin and awaiting an app at the hospital. No wonder my head is a whirlwind at the moment! :(

Oh heck - That's bound to be a blow, Ktnotkatie.

Clearly the main thing now is that you have an accurate diagnosis, and can move forward to the correct way of managing it.

I know your profile says you'd prefer not to say what type of diabetes you have, but it could be helpful to consider changing that to reflect your new diagnosis? If others just look at your previous posts and miss this one, the may think you're still T2, and of course treatment regimes differ.

You absolutely don't have to change it, but of you decide it to be a decent idea, then you can do it in your account settings, or if you can't find the setting, I can change it for you, if you let me know.
 
@DCUKMod yes of course, if u could change it that would be great! How do u know if u are type one or LADA? Just because of my age I wondered.
