People who are touchy.......feign indignation at the slightest thing. Hypocrites, bullies and cowards.

P.S Cuglia - on the list you posted only meat and dairy sources (and some fortified cereals etc) contain B12.

Some long term vegetarians and most vegans end up short of B12 - particularly if they avoid breakfast cereals/soya milk fortified with vitamins.

There's more info here: http://www.vegsoc.org/info/b12.html

Lizzie.
Yes, meat and dairy. I did know that. :? You could eat seaweed, apparently that is a good souce of B12. You actually went through the whole list....... :(

That's one of the problems with being a vegetarian or vegan I suppose.....one person's balanced and varied diet is another's poison.

Which reminds me....you CAN overdose on Vit B12. Somebody wrote that you can't.

Vitamin B12 is a fairly non-toxic substance that is unlikely to cause problems in cases of an overdose. Even so, if you happen to overdose on vitamin B12, it is a good idea to seek immediate medical attention.

Symptoms of a Vitamin B12 Overdose
There are no "symptoms" of a vitamin B12 overdose, per se. Even very large doses do not seem to cause problems for most people. In rare cases, people may experience vitamin B12 side effects, but these side effects are probably just as common with normal doses as with overdoses.

In the case of massive overdoses, toxic effects might occur due to the inactive ingredients in vitamin B12 supplements. Sometimes vitamin B12 comes in combination with other vitamins or other supplements. Of course, an overdose of such a product might cause overdose symptoms and effects due to the other components of the product.

Treatment for an overdose of vitamin B12 -- if necessary -- will involve supportive care, which consists of treating the symptoms that occur as a result of the overdose. Of course, treatment will also involve stopping the vitamin and then resuming it at a more appropriate dose, if necessary.

It is important that you seek prompt medical attention if you believe that you may have overdosed on vitamin B12.

Here is a link regarding Vit B12 toxicity, like everything it pays to be aware of this.

For the past couple of years I have been taking Alpha Lipolic Acid (thiogamma - http://www.worwag.sk/eng/produkt/thiogammaturboset.htm) intravenously every 6 months but you don´t find too much information about this stuff on British sites however our European cousins especially the Germany have been using it successfully for year as a treatment for diabetic polyneuropathy

It works for me failing that try using the Alpha Lipolic capsules
