I moved from surrey 18months ago and felt okay for a bit. But having had a 4 way bypass in 2000 and being a type one diabetic for 59 years, In February 2014 suddenly developed a sense of downing at night. This was diagnosed as heart failure.
I have been attending Adenbrookes Hospital for cardiology, was sent for various scans one at Papworth for a MRI scan all seemed okay no scaring from bypass. I came over ill at home and one day thought I was having a hypo, but on testing found I was 10.6. I then went to take of Jumper and collapsed in hallway between bedroom and bathroom. I do not know how long I was out for, only to say, I had arranged for an electrician to call. fortunately I managed to get up and open door, he helped me to an armchair and passed me the phone. I rang the doctor and she came round. My blood pressure had dropped to 100, which is quite low, it did however increase over a few hours to normal 120/80 which is normal.
I went to see my cardiologist, in October 2014, who said that he would put me down to have a Pacemaker/defibrillator fitted. I would need another scan to measure for the fitting, I waited until January 2015 to enquire why I had not heard. Was told that the Hospital had changed its computer input to a new one and that my records were not changed over so again was told that this would be dealt with.
In February I was sent for the scan and was told the results would be ready for my Doctor to download at lunch time that day. I rang the consultants secretary 6 weeks later enquiring when I would have the Pacemaker fitted and was told that it had not been downloaded. So I waited and in the end rang the PAL office (Patient Advise and liaison service). This was done nearly three weeks ago and despite ringing them last week, have not heard anything from them......
My gripe is how much longer do I wait as this is affecting my Diabetes to a level I have not experienced before.
