I've just phoned my nearest Waitrose to see if they have any in stock before I make the 30 mile round trip to get some. they said they sometimes have it in but none came in today. They said it doesn't sell well and if the computer shows there's been wastage then it doesn't order any more. I can't argue with that, but why aren't people buying it?
More to the point, why aren't Livlife or Waitrose advertising it as a low carb bread? I told him people were recommending it online but having trouble getting it and he just repeated that people aren't buying when they do have it in.

I think we would probably agree that there are a modest number of people committed to living a low carb lifestyle. If it was very commonplace there would be far fewer puzzled new people, when they arrive here. That coupled with many lower carbers, including myself, just not bothering with bread any more, probably limits the buying audience.

From what I can gather, LivLife also has a flavour not everyone enjoys.

What about an online order, or click and collect? I think I even recall someone buying bread on Amazon, to freeze, but I might just have made that up in a dream.........

Hi Rowan I know there was a thread a little while back with someone having the same type of moan about the bread not being in stock and the thread got a lot of replies. Maybe someone can point you in the direction of it ? If you can tolerate the bread and with good BS readings then good luck:)

Best wishes RRB

I'm not buying it online. It's not the £1.50 per small loaf that's the problem, although it is very expensive, it's the £5.22 postage for the minimum order or 4 loaves, making it £11.58 in total for 4 small loaves.

I'm on a very low carb diet, around 30 or less a day, but do miss bread and can easily accomodate 3.8g carbs a slice in my diet.I see no reason to give it up completely if I can get a low carb version.
Click and Collect doesn't help if it's not in stock.

I bought a loaf last year and didn't like it at all, it tasted of nothing and the slices were tiny compared to regular bread, if I was looking to eat low-carb bread I'd probably try some of the versions on the net and make my own.

Only trying to help......

What about the Sukrin bread mixes, which I believe are gluten free and extremely low carb. They're also available on Amazon; no idea about the High Street, but can be bought in single loaf or, I think it's a 1kg pack for multiple loaves or bread roll batches. I haven't tried this either.

When I first started low carbing I used the LivLife bread as I couldn't stand the thought of not having any bread. However, the slices are tiny and I found I didn't need bread as much as I thought I did: there are more fulfilling ways to get 4g of carbs :)
I've got a loaf in the freezer that has one slice out of that I had on New Year's Day - that was the last slice of bread I've had and I honestly don't miss it at all

I suspect the reason it doesn't sell well could be people like myself who are theoretically the target market giving the stuff up completely and therefore not leaving much of a market left

I do use low carb wraps (4g a wrap) but the size of these means I can have a single wrap in a whole meal - the livlife is so tiny that you need 2 slices (8g carbs) to make a small sandwich

Blimey, the cheapest I saw was around £4.50 per loaf! Think I'll give the almond flour bread a go ;)

Just look at the Sainsbury Hi-Lo loaf, and it had this in teh review:
"The 'LivLife' brand low carb seeded bread #available at 2 other supermarket chains# was of far better quality, was much more like normal bread in terms of consistency and texture, and also had proper sized slices, whilst till at very low carb levels. why can't Sainsbury's start stocking LivLife bread??"

Even more confused now!

Today I had my first piece of toast since DX last November, it was fantastic!

I got the liv-life and ordered it through Ocado on-line. It raised my bs .7.

Hope it freezes well.
