warfarin vs Insulin

Selfish people, arseholes who think they know it all, ignoramuses, chavs and people with no manners. People who play music on the bus or train full blast on their phones.
Just a quickie!

Is anyone on Warfarin and Insulin? I'm type 1 and need both for life. As my Warfarin dosage is adjusted weekly (and has been for abt 16 mths) I find the two interfere with wleach others readings.
I had a blood clot haloween 2011 and had two metres of bowl removed, as the clot cut off the supply to my pancreas and the bowel just died. I have a beauty of an 18" scar up my navel to sterum.
Is anyone else on this medication in tandem? It's a flipping nuisance and once I strike a balance, my Warfarin is altered the following week.
If anyone experience(s/d) this before, do you have any advice? I can't vaggies or foodstuffs high in vitamin K, spinach, green cabbage, sprouts, broccolli, which I'm pleased about because I hate them and also things like Coli, Cranberries and Blueberries.
Any advice will be considered as I have an appointment tomorrow. It's a mystery to my anti-coagulation team.

I'm T1 and had a pulmonary embolism back in 2001 when I was 19. I was on warfarin for about a year and a half. It's quite a while ago now but I don't remember it ever affecting my diabetes. I don't know if there is any recognised interaction between the two, but if your anti-coag team doesn't know anything then I suggest getting in touch with your diabetes specialist.

I guess that since warfarin thins the blood then there could be some affect on insulin absorption maybe. I don't know, sorry!
 
Cheers for your honest answer picklebean! It's my co-ag tomorrow and diabetes consultant on Friday so I hope to have an answer by C.O.P friday! It's extremely frustrating and spending 7 weeks or so in hospital and the doctors confounded, it's probably a case of trial and error. I'll make a note of both doses and see what I took to get a balanced reading. Makes sense now - great ain't it, hindsight. Then if the staff can't help I'll at least have my own 'go-to' guide.

Sometimes when the specialists don't know what's going on then the best thing to do is go with your instincts and with what you know. And if you're able to match up sugar levels etc with doses of insulin and warfarin then that's your best bet.

Good luck with your appointments. Hope you find some answers.
