Its not that, there are a few ways you can be eligible for it (https://www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme), but needing a fridge for medication is not one of them as far as I can tell, I certainly haven't got itA friend told me it’s because I’m diabetic and need to have a fridge to keep insulin in.
I don’t know then, I didn’t apply for it and I don’t match the criteria for receiving it. My son who lives at home with me does though he receives universal credit I wonder if it’s been paid to me because of that reason? Its not that, there are a few ways you can be eligible for it (https://www.gov.uk/the-warm-home-discount-scheme), but needing a fridge for medication is not one of them as far as I can tell, I certainly haven't got it
I’m with edf, I work full time and don’t claim any benefit. Why would my son not get it though he’s on universal credit and he lives in my house and uses the electricity/gas also. It's only paid to the person whose name is on the electricity bill. Which energy company are you with @Sarah69
Do you work for the NHS? (Seem to remember you are in the healthcare profession.?) just seen this. (In relation to the EDF company you subscribe to.) https://www.nhsdiscounts.org.uk/edfenergy.comI’m with edf, I work full time and don’t claim any benefit. Thanks, I had a look at that but that doesn’t say I get £150 off my bill. Oh well I may never know why I’ve got it.Do you work for the NHS? As your son may not be the “named” customer cohabiting. He may not qualify.
I would phone up and check you are entitled, if it’s been a mistake even in their part they can take it back, I would hate for you to spend it thinking you have more money than you do and then have to find it to pay it back. Thanks, I had a look at that but that doesn’t say I get £150 off my bill. Not this year. The rules changed. You have to be on certain means tested benefits, and your home has to meet certain criteria. Only people getting it automatically are group one which are those in receipt of the guarantee pension credit so not even all pensioners are entitled this year.It is paid to anyone on means tested benefit.
