As some of you know I am now onto week 6 of the Newcastle diet, and my weight has been falling really well, as have my BG's and FBG's.
I have not cheated at all, but this week I have gained 4 pounds according to my scales. I am as certain as I can be it's water retention, as it is physically impossible to have gained weight. I actually exercised away, more calories than I ate yesterday, and I ate 521 calories. Today's calories will be 655 if I manage all three shakes as well as dinner (unlikely) or 487 if I don't. This figure is about usual for me, and has been this way for the last five weeks.
I do exercise just about every day, but over the weekend have done quite a bit more than usual.
My question; does anyone know what may be causing the water retention? I feel slightly bloated (no constipation) yet have lost 0.5 of an inch from my waist. Is there anything I could take (natural) that would ease the problem? I did used to retain water badly and was on Furosemide, but have not needed a repeat script for quite a while.
Help?
