Hi all.

I'm going on holiday in 3 weeks and i was looking to get some form of strap/ silicon bracelet for when im away. I have an allergy to nickel so anything that has metal coming into contact with the skin is out of the question. ideally i dont want to have to take it off when i go into the pool etc so something that would be ok with that!

i have though about a silicon one but i was worried about the writing rubbing off?

any suggestions would be appreciated. although i'll be with my boyfriend i just want to be safe while im away :)

You can buy cheap silicon/rubber I dont know what they are made of TBH off eBay for a few pounds and the writing does not wash off Ive had a couple for over 4 years and they still look like new.

Heres one seller there are loads more http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/wowbands/m.ht ... 7675.l2562

Just search for "Diabetes Bracelet"

Hi Hale,
I got a silicone wrist band bright orange with white writing.
Text is- ALERT !!! TYPE 1 DIABETES INSULIN DEPENDENT
£2 from Ebay letters are indented and very clear. I would highly recommend. I just searched for diabetic id. Had it since mid Feb and still looks new.
Hope this helps:smile:

Of course whether anyone takes any notice of them is another question altogether

Most people assumed mine were awareness/charity type bracelets. But I did feel happier wearing one when I was insulin dependant.

Yes, I like that they're quite obvious. But they do look a little like charity bands!

At least if I'm wearing one I know I've done everything I can. I also walk my dog at the park alone a lot of the time so it would be sensible to wear something then too I guess
