We really are our own practitioners in this, cast to the wolves

Since 2016 the interactions I have had with the drs and nurses at my practice have gone:
'you need to take statins. we like diabetics to be under 5'
to which I respond 'the Atorvastatin destroyed my ability to function, I forgot a lot of things important to me.'
'How about a different statin?'
'Can you guarantee it will not do the same thing?'
'How about another drug to do the same thing?' (they don't listen to what I actually say.)
"I refer my honourable friend to my previous answer.'
Other than as the reason to push down my cholesterol, my diabetes - anything to do with it, or my response to it - nothing. Not a flicker of interest in me or the diabetes.
