Ooooops, apologies GraceK, I've just spotted your post regarding wood pigeons.

I have a pair of wood pigeons who regularly visit my little garden. One sits on the fence keeping dixie while the other feeds, then they change places. They're very dignified birds and also they're very considerate of the smaller birds around them. They don't scare off the little ones at all and they don't hog all the food.

Awwww they're really cute, don't go anywhere without each other. If they were human, they'd wear matching knitted sweaters and hold hands all the time.

Till next weekend folks .

Hi All .

This weekends theme is : Books .

What is your favourite book and why ?

To get us started off - My favourite is Angela's Ashes by Frank Mc Court .

I have read this over a dozen times and it never fails to delight me .
It is the story of his childhood with his own family's poverty and struggles in an irish town of limerick .
Despite the poverty and hunger - he tells it in a real humourous and honest story.

Anna.

Any Captain underpants books. Millar and McNiven's "NEMESIS" and The Tiger who came to tea.:-D
And @Thermobear on twitter .

Any "sidney sheldon" books I can easily get stuck into .
Love the who has done it murder/spy plots ...

It's really such a long time since I've read a book, but I'd recommend the Millennium Trilogy (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire & The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest)

If you're like me and prefer to watch films, they made all 3 books in to films but they're in Swedish. Currently, the only American re-make of the Swedish versions is The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo... definitely worth a watch if you enjoy the books!

For a long time my only interest in reading
books for pleasure has been biographies.
And the funniest I've read in a long time was Tommy Cooper's
biography written by television producer etc, John Fisher.

Tommy was as funny a man in real life as he
was on stage, and a very clever man to boot.

Tommy Cooper "Always Leave Them Laughing".
An absolute joy to read as far as I'm concerned. :D

I have a slight problem reading books(mild dyslexia). Thank goodness for all these mod gadgets.Roy :)

I read lots in my 40s, didn't read at all in my 50s, now I'm entering my 60's I download about 3 Kindle books a week and read them in bed to help me nod off. I don't read for information any more, I read for pure entertainment. I like humour, science fiction, conspiracy theories, but I won't read or watch anything violent or gory whether it's truth or fiction.

Another weekend .

Lets get singing folks!

Name a musical - Sound of Music :D
