Hi there
i am new to this forum , and can not find the anwser via my doctor or dietician
they have had me on variuos diets and although it does work for my sugar levels and being health

its not helping weight wise they say i am at the bottom of the weight scale for my height which they say is ok

but i am not happy with that

example i am 6ft and was 12 -13 stone which was a heathy weight
i have had type 1 for 3 years and within the first year i was down to 10 stone

i would like to put on weight as i look like a skinny rake (being 6ft 2in )

any suggestions on how to do this would be a great help

many thanks in advance :)

jason

According to Bernstein, the best thing to do is weight lifting to build muscle. Eat a few more calories whilst you are doing it.

Hi nosaj.
Welcome.

You don't say how old you are ? My son who is 27 is like you. He is underweight. He has started eating sensibly and going to a gym, working out. He is getting muscles, and also putting on some weight now. As hanadr says get some calories in you. Cut out any junk foods.

Your BMI if you are 10 stone is 19 ish, that needs to be a bit higher. Don't worry too much. I was also once like you, underweight - now I am trying hard to lose that self same weight.
