A bit prickly aren't we now? Cool down Douglas, Who said anything else? Even if you are the one exception I think you are all right! But not everybody has your stamina so stop it and let us help new, very sick people who has got very wrong advice. You wanting to cut my throat wont help them.

I quite agree, stop it, and let us help the new people who don't need to dragged onto a high fat diet, when we now all agree there are several options open, and they all work as you now agree.
Or do you imply if I'm the "one exception" that everyone else who doesn't high fat on here called have improved, despite their posts claiming they have? Or that they shouldn't be allowed to post now either, if they disagree with you?

Yah well a high fat diet is the best long term, isn't it? as well as short term? So why shovel **** on a healthy diet because you had success with a different one?
Do you have a problem with a high-fat diet? Why? Do you think fats aren't healthy? If so, why? What is wrong with with butter and olive oil? I can plaster your walls with scientific research of good quality, should you be interested.

So let us help people to control bg.

Yes, let us help people control bg.
So you obviously appreciate all the information on all the diets that work, even down to the ones you appear not to personally like, even though, as you admit, they're successful.
So lets give the posters all the information, and let them decide for themselves.

People who don't listen to others i.e. the 8 members of this forum I have put on ignore as they talk such utter **** all the time. This now includes the member who thinks they are a moderator.
And yet another thread descends into the low carb/high fat/low fat argument rendering the thread useless to the OP as others push their personal ideals. Time to start using the ignore function on these peeps.

What about fat Douglas? I would like to know your take on it.

Regarding diets I don't really believe in diets. As long as you eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full and don't need snacking, AND keep your bg at good levels. That is what is what low carb high fat is to me. Weight loss and excellent bg control while being satiated. And high fat is the solution.

So why do you have a problem with high fat intake? It is healthy, you know.

Sorry but so many people are afraid of fat. I grew up in the sixties when fat still was a good thing and diabetics rare. Now there are diabetics everywhere and we are all afraid of fat. In my opinion there is a connection between all the low--fat products and the obesity/diabetic epidemic

So I am sorry if I am a bore but to me the diabetic solution is fairly simple: quit the carbs and eat fat and you will live long and prosper.

TurvellYour nurse should never tell you that you are fat and lazy , that's a terrible thing to do. She should encourage you.
I take 2 green tea tablets after my breakfast and they somehow reduce my appetite. Breakfast is a weight watcher fromage fraiche with blue berries and a spoonful of nuts. Lunch is a salad base with some tasty thing like coronation chicken etc.
Tea is meat and veg or similar. If we have pasta I only have a very small amount and lots of sauce.
I cheat a bit at supper time with a biscuit and occasionally go off track . Ive lost 20 in a year through making small changes like cutting down on carbs and sugar drinks. I eat the rainbow as they say and don't feel like Im doing without. Good thing is that I feel better than I have in years.
