Have recently had my HBA1C result and its 55 in the new range which I understand is above the normal range yet my GP seems okay with it.
Currently I inject Byetta twice a day and take 2 to 4 metformin depending on how my stomach is!
I average eating about 90gms of carbs a day split over my 3 meals. I wake up with a blood sugar of around 7-8 I try and have a nut muesli for b'fast or a nut sort of porridge with almond milk but after b'fast my sugars are usually around 8-9, lunch is either soup or a salad and they can be around 7-8 after and then in the evening I have meat/fish, veggies and maybe a potato or 1oz of pasta, I never have rice and my sugars can be about 9. Somtimes I have a snack of yogurt in the evening and occasionally a square of dark chocolate
I can't seem to get my sugars much lower and because of my IBS I can't just drop all my carbs as I end up with awful stomach ache.
I don't feel well most of the time, although I exercise about 5 times a week for about an hour and I just feel so exhausted and fed up with not feeling great, not too mention the night visits to the bathroom!
Any ideas on what I can do, to try and bring them down further?
Thanks
PS Have got an appt to see a consultant at the hospital next week as I haven't seen anyone for years apart from my GP.
