Good morning all. It’s a bright sunny day here in the north.
I have finally taken my desk apart. It’s a sit-stand with electronic height controls. Son has claimed it.
Now to see what other work related stuff can go to other homes or be chucked into the recycling.
Have a wonderful day if you can :)

Hi @wolfie11969

I like the Plantagenets and Stuart’s too

I was very good at history at school my favourite subject

I think if I could go back in time I would like to be a courtier at Elizabeth I court.

I've increased my knowledge a fair deal. History in primary school was fun as we did the aspects of history I enjoy. Secondary school was different so I wasnt too impressed with learning who designed a iron bridge in Ironbridge.

When I left home I began buying novels of a historical nature and it re-ignited something inside me.

I also watch historical programmes and have some interesting dvd choices. Oh and travelling around the various stately homes.
I guess it's a bit far south for you but have you been to Montacute in Somerset?

As for the courtier you would have to be a rich one and one very much in favour as old Elizabeth was very temperamental.

Beautiful day here although it feels a bit cold so think I'm going out with my coat on.

I'm off wedding dress looking today with my youngest. :)We have discovered a very large boutique that sells lots of different ranges so hoping to go and find a dress she can wear. We did find a suitable dress in a boutique closer to home but the price was a little more than she wanted to pay. Her fiance (who's a nurse) said he would work a few extra shifts so she could have this dress. I think daughter is finding it all a bit overwhelming as they have also seen a florist and that has come in a lot over their budget too.

Well people would go and get married.

Are you @Molly56 and @Clivethedrive having any similar problems or are you both sorted now?

I may be back later :shifty:

Mornin’ Cumbs, hang on to the sun, there might be enough to go round for all of us this morning

I don’t think it’s gonna be sunny much longer as grey clouds are gathering

And tomorrow it looks dodgy

I like visiting historical stately homes and castles, cathedrals @wolfie11969

I’m going to google Montacute as I’ve not heard of that one before

Still cleaning out office stuff. Found a couple of Nokia phones, an 8210 and a 6230i if you are interested. The little 8210 is charging nicely, just needs a massive SIM card now. The other one needs a new battery. Hopefully I can get them both working.

Salad for dinner I think, not sure how that will be made up but I had a small fry up for lunch , burp. :)

Bigotry, reliance on unsupported 'facts', unkindness, unfairness.
I lived near Taunton for a while back in the late 60s early 70s Woolfie but I didn’t ever visit Montecute. It was just a bit too far to go by bike. Googled it: Phelips must have had a big pile of money to build something like that!

@wolfie11969 ...hope you have had a successful day dress hunting...:)..

....think we have got most things sorted......is second time round for each of us so keeping it simple and just a small intimate affair with close family and a few friends.....have sorted both our outfits more or less with just a couple of accessories to source and buy.....I am still considering flowers for myself to carry (the gardener in me says I should) but deciding what other bells and whistles we do or don't need....(mostly don't!)...

...am also seeing what I can make or do myself....I have already made a practice place setting with my jewellery / beading skills and working out how to add the personal touch to them with little charms....found some great ones on popular auction site which are wedding related or some personal relevance to those attending...

.....formalities completed today so good to go on our chosen day once we have served our time.....

...am pleased we have chosen to do it the way we have and feel for those with much more ambitious (and expensive) plans.....hope all goes well and that your daughter enjoys their day once they finally get there ....:)
