What do I need to do now?

Well I was on Insulin up until about three months ago. I was doing well with an average reading of circa 7.5 on the meter and my bloods were showing a similar result. My Diabetic Nurse decided to take me off my Insulin as I was slightly varying my injection amounts between 12 to 24 units based on my meter readings. I was told this was unacceptable and Insulin was stopped and I was put on 100mg Sitagliptin daily in addition to my Metformin.
Since this change in my treatment my average levels have increased to around 11 or 12 daily on my meter readings. I work hard for 3 days per week and complete strenuous workouts in the gym for the other three days. I am also extremely careful with my diet and in all honesty do not eat a lot in any case . My weight is exactly what is recommended for my height etc.
I am now completely annoyed and somewhat depressed that my readings have gone up from acceptable to too high for my liking. I am not due to see my Diabetic Nurse again until February 2017, but have made an earlier appointment with my local GP as I am not comfortable with this change in my Diabetic management. Anyone like to comment or offer me some advice???

Assuming your profile is correct and you are Type 2.
When you do eat what are you having?
A lot of us find that we can control our blood sugars by reducing (sometimes dramatically) the amount of carbohydrate we eat.
Have you ever tried this?

Hi and Welcome,
I think your doing all you can do by arranging another appointment with your GP after all they take overall responsibility for your care not the diabetic nurse.

Yes indeed. It was an experiment. You have given it three months and it hasn't worked.
Personally I would rather use insulin than sitagliptin, due to potential side effects, but I can't really comment as I am LCHF diet controlled.
