What do you miss from the 'Olden Days'?

TBH it was a learning experience for me as well! But glad to be able to put you out of your misery. My very first single that I played over and over again was 'Dream' by Bobbi Gentry and Glen Campbell, Walk Right Back on the flip side.

Now I'm going to check out this song that means so much to you to see what all the fuss is about!
 

But you'll NEVER miss your strength, whether it be your outright honesty, noting your regrets or following a routine (be it T1 / T2) all of us could do without.

Childhood is a magical part of our lives, I wish it could last much longer, but then we just can't wait to be 'grown up'. and independent. I told my teenager to enjoy her childhood, because in a blink of an eye, it's gone, and it's a long, long road as an adult.

Your post Abby will hit home to many.

No forgetting The Wooden tops and Spot the dog.
I was about 5 years old and thought how boring is this.
 

I remember when there were just 2 tv channels, BBC and ITV with only one tele in the house and everyone had to watch what Mum and Dad wanted to watch. No videos of course.
Now we have an endless choice of channels, catch up, +1 hour, series link, instant & timer recording etc and teles in every room, so there's no risk of ever missing anything. Shame there's so few unmissable programmes on now though
 
Being able to go into my then little girls bedroom to change bedding, see what state it is in, help her tidy up things, clear things out, clean the windows ( thoroughly ) now I'm not allowed near it and talking of teenagers, I have only 4 forks left ( not fork handles ) in the cutlery tray
 

I totally agree, there is so much rubbish on tv, and repeat s. I get so cross when it's time to pay the tv licence,
 

Been there done that, watch out for the science experiments lurking under the bed in mugs and on plates, and the rain forest of tissues laying about.

I know I did all that many years ago, but I would go and have an 18 year age gap between my now teenager and my grown up daughter, who was very untidy and messy, son wasn't though, ho hum
 

You have teenagers? You have my deepest sympathy.
How I didn't strangle our oldest son when a teenager I don't know.
The second son was much easier, or maybe I new how to handle a teenager by then, well almost.

Know what you mean, I had one tidy daughter and one totally opposite, then when they grew up the tidy one became messy but has now turned back into a tidy one and the other is ocd about cleaning, the boys followed the same route except the last, his room now is a black hole of mess but if asked for something he can put his hand on it immediately, hey ho.
 
I certainly don't miss the liberty bodice I used to hide mine and put it in the wash each week .I don't miss navy blue knickers either !!

I have never worn one of those 'bodices', but I remember my mum hand washing her corsets and the' all in one' with the suspenders attached. My mum went from a size 14 to an 18 sometimes and when she put her all in one on, it really gave her a very curvy figure, but it must of been very uncomfortable at times and in the hot summers, too
 
Mine definitely had the buttons on the front,I can remember even though it is over 60 years ago !
I can't remember what I need from the shops though

I think they had rubber buttons so they wouldn't break when going through the mangle.
Did your mum have a mangle.
Mum would let me turn the handle.
 

but your dad puts the lock on it so you can't dial out but you know how to tap the number in, i miss that.
