This is a question I have.
If a person has a religion, but also has diabetes how do they fast?
Firstly, I would say talk to their GP for advise.
Etc,
The emotional effects it can have- not being able to follow their religious beliefs...

Someone correct me if I'm wrong? Diabetics are exempt from fasting due to the health reasons...?

I'll tag in @hichamgsm . To clarify.

@frankie7488 You do not state if you are talking about Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, or perhaps, more important, insulin controlled or not insulin controlled. There would be different considerations, though I am aware of insulin users who do fast and fasting is one of the many recommended treatments/ways of controlling Type 2.
@Jaylee beat me to it. I too have some memory of reading that Muslims with particular health issues are not required to fast. I'm sure there have been posts on the subject of Ramadan and religious fasting in the past. Perhaps do a search.

According to our religion, fasting is haraam for the sick, the elderly, the young, and even the traveler away
It is not allowed if fasting will cause problems and the doctor is better advised

I don't fast for religious reasons but for health reasons. I reckon its one of the ways I can control my Type 2 without medication. If you are not taking any blood glucose lowering medication then you should be fine to fast.

Religion does not differ with reason

Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity.

The kind of fast you (and others of us utilising intermittant fasting ) follow is very different to the fasting regime required in many religions
In the 30 days of Rammadan for instance neither food nor fluids are allowed to be consumed by those fasting The daily fasting period is also longer, being between sunrise and sunset which makes the fluid restriction in particular much more dangerouse, particularly when rammadan falls in the summer when days are longer and hotter, hence the importance of vulnerable groups such as the young, the elderly and the sick being exempt from fasting and able to fulfill their religious duties in other ways
