Thank you.I know those sewing machine blues too.I spent 90 minutes hand sewing this morning and only completed a third as it hurt my eyes.
Then down to the coast for lunch with a cousin, nicely cooler and breezier there so pleasant to sit outside and enjoy cold buffet.
It went on longer than planned and by the time we were back home it was time for the next social event, a summer party.
So today's food has been mainly cold cuts, cheese and salad, plus too many strawberries dipped in dark chocolate and 1 tiny piece of cake.
There was 1 glass wine with lunch and 2 small glasses prosecco this evening.
I feel like I've been eating constantly all day...which I was!
Happy birthday @RosemaryJackson, though you've a way to go to catch my twin neighbours who were 90 and next door who is 97!
My pair of 88 year olds, one with broken wrist have made it their cruise! So fingers crossed I can have a week's rest too.
Feeling for you @shelley262 . We failed to get my relative with "problems " to his specialist dental appointment this week. He refuses sedation, refuses to leave his room and is 30 Stone +. You are doing really well with your son, really well.Didn't do breakfast as had to pop into town to talk to the dentist receptionist - they are not easy to ring up! Especially as it was a busy Friday morning. Eldest son unfortunately lost his newly fixed crown yesterday evening plus to make it worse he rinsed it to clean it, and put to one side for refixing, but he dropped it into the sink( he has poor coordination) and of course it went straight down the plug hole! Appointment made to assess it in just over a week. Also had to talk to doctors to order more diazepam for him so we can get him there!
I love the view from your tent @Antje77. It's a good thing you're not intending to sleep in the tent though.I'm having a lovely time with my aunt (even though the day started rather hungover)!
Look at my tent and view, doesn't get more Dutch than this I think.

The people from the air b&b are absolutely amazing, as is their self built mobile home.
They went out of their way to improvise steps for my old and short legged aunt to be able to get in bed, they offered me a bike to use to get to a nearby swimming spot, they offered me a bed in the house if my tent wasn't comfortable enough (no thanks, I like my tent), and they told us to stay longer without paying because they didn't have renters for two days after us. (Also no thanks, two nights is enough, but wow!)
We went out for dinner, diabetes behaved incomprehensably perfectly despite chips (meal in main thread), aunt is fast asleep and I'm seriously unwinding from all the emotional neighbours goings on during the past week.
Yes, my aunt is dying from cancer, but talking about it with her isn't difficult, not an emotional drain, it's just part of life, to be both taken seriously and joke about, which we do.
Here are some more pictures.

Aha, couldn't see the water. So you had an undisturbed night. That's good to hear @Antje77. Perhaps the cows are further away than would appear in your photo due to foreshortening.Slept very well in my tent, until the morning sun came up right in my face.
No problems with the cows though, there is water between them and my tent!
I'll see if I can watch this once back home and not on my phone.@Antje77
This story has been widely published here this week, hope it doesn't sadden you. An example of how well Netherlanders can approach death
BBC News - Dying together: Why a happily married couple decided to stop living
I wonder if you ever came across this couple, they sounds like sailing free spirits not unlike your selfDuo euthanasia: Why a happily married couple decided to die together
Jan and Els sought medical intervention to end their lives after 50 happy years of marriage.www.bbc.com
And your time with your Aunt sounds so special
Xxx
Hope you really enjoy your holiday - totally agree with you on the weather, a few hot days are okay if you can treat them like holiday days but it's hard if you need and want to get stuff done. Hope you come back from your holiday fully rested and able to review your way of eating again.@Antje77 being there for someone facing the end of their life is such a privilege and a heartbreak, and you are doing it in such style! I'm glad you and your Aunt are having a great time and those cheeses and cashews look lovely!
I've been non-low-carb again, and off on holiday tomorrow, just for a few days, so unlikely to stay low carb then either. I will give myself another talking to when I get back and see what can be done about getting back to keto/carnivore.
The medications are doing their jobs very well but I feel upset with myself because not only do I understand what keto/low carb can do for my health, I've actually proven it to myself in practice beyond any doubt. Also I understand medications may not continue to work as well long term, so if I want better health I have to get the food right.
I was another one grateful for the cooler weather, I love the novelty of a hot day or two but for getting things done I need this more traditional British weather!
Looks amazing so pleased you managed to get your Aunt on the water. Water especially when light reflects on it always seems to lift my mood and I'm sure will have helped your Aunt as part of her holiday experience. Enjoy the rest of your weekend break.I'll see if I can watch this once back home and not on my phone.
Positive euthanasia stories never depress me.
It was only last year that I found out our countries are very different when it comes to euthanasia, and I was very much shocked to hear that what is accepted in my country is completely different in the UK.
Aunt and I had a lovely day, leisurely waking up with coffee, tea, cute tiny eggs from our chickens.
Then off for an hour long drive through the countryside for a late lunch. I brought my own LC bread but the place was so understaffed I didn't have the heart to make things more complicated. Besides, their bread was absolutely heavenly and I'd already decided diabetes could take the back burner during this weekend.
I had an amazing smoked salmon sandwich with one slice of bread, took the other slice of bread with me in case of a hypo later on.
I know my aunt would have loved to rent a boat, but getting in and out of one just isn't realistic anymore.
What joy to find a small bike ferry over the lake, perfect for her wheelchair! We had our little boat trip still!
