"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

B: yoghurt with milled seeds and a teaspoon cocoa powder
L: pub cottage pie with greens, and a glass of wine with soda
D: a little leftover curry, 1/4 lemon muffin with more yoghurt. 1 wine with soda.

Quite a bit of walking. Interesting history tour. 13000 steps

@Antje77 meet Daisy and Minnie, both curious, playful and cuddly
They are gorgeous!

I'm on the ship, had some beers with the very nice group, in my cabin now.
They have a meal plan for the week, very useful! Some meals are a no go, some have possibilities, all meals are vegetarian. They're happy for me to skip the carby parts and have more of the rest, and I'll add my own food to fill up.

Some of them brought swimming gear so it looks like I'll be joined in my daily swims!

Tailor-made for you @Antje77. Have a great week!

I don't know the official names for the colours, sorry. She has a bit of everything, white, ginger, black and tabby. Think she might be calico, or is that just an American term?
I believe so @MrsA2. Here we refer to this coat colour combination as tortoiseshell-and-white. In Canada and the United States it's calico.

Morning all. As you can see, I'm back after a most wonderful weekend. I feel truly blessed with my relatives and spoiled beyond my wildest dreams. @MrsA2 and @Annb, I did as you suggested, I forgot the T2 but looking back I didn't go overboard. But for the first time in my life, I drank champagne! I had tasted it once before and thought it tasted like vinegar but obviously tastes change. It's a weekend that I won't forget in a hurry. Now back to the real world! It's Monday lunch club so will report tomorrow on food. But I have some chicken drumsticks that I took out of the freezer last night for tea. Have a lovely day all.

Breakfast: sausages with a bit of tomato. 2 RyVita.

2nd meal will be more of the beef stew from yesterday. I ended up cooking the beef with some orange peel for several hours, and some onion, some Chinese 5 spice and beef stock, then added some broccoli and cauliflower florets for the last few minutes. Turned out very well.

Wonderful, how precious.

3 scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Then some 13000 steps (mostly up!) exploring a castle. Boy it was cold and breeze to start with.
Ate my emergency almonds just to try get warm
L (in the sun which finally came out) olives and salami slices
Later shared a pistachio icecream with hubby
D: 2 sausages served with a greek salad. White wine. A little yoghurt

These 2 cats we are looking after are cute and cuddly but do roam all over the kitchen worktops, stealing what food they can. They even raided the cherry tomatoes knocking them on the floor as playthings. I'm concerned they walk over the hob too. Our own ones didn't, but it's so long since they were young maybe we've forgotten. Hints and tips to train cats please

It's very easy. You simply accept them stealing your cherry tomatoes and walk over countertop and hob, problem solved!
(Don't worry about the hobs being hot, they'll figure it out. They're cats, not idiots.)

First day of a week of sailing started with a swim in the harbour very nice.
Sailing was very grey and on and off wet as well, but the last bit was perfect!
Under motor we sailed closely past a sandbank with lots of seals that were very active. Youngsters were playing and chasing eachother, the adults were engaging in lots of adult activity, never seen anything like it!

After that it was a quiet sail with just the jib to the harbour, perfect.

Lovely group of 27 people, very good and so far diabetes friendly food. All vegetarian this week, which is perfectly fine if the food is this good.
I don't do breakfast but lunch under sail was a lovely creamy mushroom soup with lots of veggies, and apart from the veggie stock cubes all freshly made.
I asked about the ingredients, 200 grams of flour on a huge pot for 30 people so I went with a small dose of insulin, turned out well.

Evening meal was wraps (skipped those, plated the filling), assemble your own with huge bowls of lettuce, onion, bell pepper, tomato, corn, grated cheese, feta, different mayo based sauces, two types of hummus, freshly made, fried tofu and homemade falafel.
Yes, they made falafel from scratch while we were sailing, I'm utterly impressed.

Early day tomorrow, we'll leave at 7 because of the tide.

I'm quite happy with cats being cats, but not on the worktops or stealing food! One in particular is too pushy when it comes to food. At the moment a firm "off" and physical removing is seeming to work, just needing to do it every few seconds. Took ages to get the meal cooked.
