"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

That's an extreme method to have a visit from 2 attractive girls!

Hope you are feeling a lot better now and that the bruising subsides quickly. Even though it was only 10 minutes, it must still have been pretty awful to be stuck on the cupboards floor until assistance arrived. Do take care. You are too valuable to take too many risks.
Feeling a lot better this morning, ribs are easing off.

That was a scary adventure! So glad to hear you’re ok and back at home now, even if you are a bit battered.
Those paramedics look really cheerful, they must have been a very welcome sight. Hope they picked up the sardines for you as well as checking you over.
They arrived the same time as my other contacts that were notified, she put the rest of my groceries away. Her partner helped the ambos to me off the floor.

Didn't know you had your own bar at the Hoek van Holland - Harwich ferry, @Riva_Roxaban !

Got my "hook" in a lot of bars when I was younger.

Hope the beer was great, here's a tip for you, do not drink Fosters Lager in UK as it's not made in Australia and tastes like dog kakka.

Blue Care nurse took some pix of the bruises on my head, they're turning green and are not sore any more.

Swash buckling buccaneers celebrated "International Talk Like A Pirate Day" on Monday 19th September.

Hmmm! Reminds me of a joke about buccaneers and sundry old salts, that the forum rules and eno's forbid me to post, so I better not. :woot:
Only one I know is Where are your buccaneers?

It came from 3rd rock from the Sun. A play on words.

O...K. Not the kind of entertainment I usually watch, so I'd never seen that reference. Not really the kind of thing that makes me laugh, but it is often thought that I don't have a sense of humour. I do, but I'll admit, it's not the same as everyone else's. Actually, Em told me that one, in various forms, a few days ago. I didn't laugh then and promptly forgot about it.

Used some of the cooked chicken thighs to make chicken mayo for my 2nd meal. And I've just realised that I haven't taken any pills today other than pain killers, which I've been obliged to take twice today. Too late now.

How is your bruised head now, @Riva_Roxaban?
Right hand side nearly dissapeared, the one on top has gone.

My lower ribs and whatever is sitting behind them is / are still sore, but I have fix for that with oxicodone.

My elbow is still colourful, and the strip of bark that ripped up, when I hit something with it on the way down has nearly healed up.

My goodness, I didn't realise just how much damage you had done in your fall. So glad to hear that things are healing now but do be careful of yourself and hold on to something when you try to reach just beyond your safety limit.

Glad you are on the mend.

They do say - do what I say, not what I do. Be careful and hold on to something, I said. And what did I do? Dropped the bottom part of a cake tin and bent down to pick it up. Didn't hold on and was surprised when I tipped forward and lost my balance! I didn't hit the floor though, just the wall. No bruises or any other damage, but I was lucky.

@Annb you were indeed lucky.

Your BGs seem to react the same as mine. If I don't eat something up they go! Your's however, seem to rise to crazy levels. It's beyond me what's going on.

A general question to whoever reads this. There is a catchphrase driving me nuts and I can't remember where it came from. I think it was a comedy from a while back.

It was along the lines of " he's not a ??, like wot I am" I think it might have been Ernie Wise?

I wonder if my crazy BGs have something to do with a crazy liver releasing too much glucose when it "thinks" I've left it too long without refuelling. Just a thought, not that I know anything about anything.

B: scrambled egg with ham and cheese, but my host put a load of fruit on the side. Picked out the blueberries, ate the mango (it was delicious), gave rest to hubby
Late lunch. 2 oysters then prawns tacos in tortilla wraps. Drank water only . Bg peaked at 10
Very late dinner: Mexican restauant where everything comes with rice and beans. Ordered steak and onions which turned out to be mince. I only ate 2 mouthfuls of the rice and beans.Trouble was I picked at the corn chips and salsa so shot straight up to 10.
My host (a long lost cousin) has no idea of carbs and its my choice not to enlighten him.
Moving on tomorrow, think next host's have more understanding of low carb
