Despite still sleeping in very late, I'm feeling surprisingly good this morning, but there is a definite autumnal feel in the air. The forecast has warmer days for a while then shows rain every day in the longer forecast, but still warmish. Blight weather, just as my christmas potatoes are due to pop up!

Oh well, today and tomorrow and possibly Tuesday it's 15- 20c ish and sunny, so I will be enjoying the garden as much as I can.

Porridge for breakfast, salad with some of the crustless quiche for lunch and chicken and mushroom runny stew with garden vegetables for tea.

Morning all! Actually, good afternoon, all - it's gone 1:00! Last night we had our Saturday sausage and mash with baked beans, green beans (not very nice, for some reason) and cabbage, followed by kefir yoghurt with honey and a fig. And a glass of home-made lemon cordial.

Breakfast this morning was my usual Sunday one of a poached egg and leftover baked beans on a slice of buttered low-GI toast, plus orange juice and black coffee. Lunch is being a cold sausage (from yesterday), a mini pork pie, 3 cherry tomatoes and a glass of home-made lemon cordial. Actually it's lemon-mint cordial. I think I'll have an ice lolly - probably a peach and raspberry one - too.

I have no idea what supper will be, as we are going down to my mother (who is 98) for the week and she may or may not have prepared something. I know she has a ham hock on the go, so I might do some kind of vegetable stew to go with that, with leftovers we can have cold with burrata tomorrow. I rather think there will be more meat in our diet over the next week than usual! Still, nice for a change, and I hope there will be some fish in there, too!

Arrived safely on the South Coast. Mum presented me with a chocolate biscuit that she loves, but not sure of the brand (me neither) and I couldn't not eat it! Supper was a slice of ham with a vegetable stew, followed by kefir yoghurt with a peach, a little creme fraiche and a little brown sugar. May have a tiny bit of cake later, but we shall see!
