"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

I'm back. My pc has broken down at the moment so Neil has dug out an old and very limited laptop so that I can at least read and even reply to e-mails. It doesn't have my contact list on it though so I can only wait until someone messages me. Only just got online again and managed to find a link to the threads on this forum that I usually access.

Despite my dislike of technology, I find that I am dependent on the internet for so many things. Can't even access my bank account, so can only hope all is well there and I haven't overdrawn my current account. I did mean to transfer money into it but the pc breakdown stopped me.

Thanks for your concern friends but all's well, if a bit frustrating.

Breakfast was overnight oats with some fruit.
Had to have some crackers because BG dropped too low around 1 pm.
2nd meal is waiting for me to eat it - spicy chicken on a baked (frozen) potato.

@Annb what a relief to "see" you! I'm so glad you're ok and it was only computer problems keeping you away from us!

@shelley262 I hope your arm isn't too sore today.

I am off to visit a friend this morning so early breakfast of porridge, friend might be doing lunch and then chicken and vegetables for tea.

@Annb it made my morning to have a message from you. Very frustrating though to have computer issues. Welcome back.
I'm rushing out in a bit lots to do with eldest son today especially as we are going away next week for a quick break. Packed LC roll with ham, lc granola before I go out and then cheeseburger and salad for dinner.
@jpscloud thank you for asking - my arm was a bit sore overnight but slight in comparison to some previous years so hoping it's fine now.

Breakfast: overnight oats with some chopped, dried apricots.

2nd meal: fried egg, tomato and a few frozen chips. That's the plan anyway. I'm having to have non-meat meals these days. I don't know why, but any meat really turns me off at the moment.
So good to hear from you again and all is well. You were missed. X

Good evening from Blériot-Plage on the final night of our holiday. @Annb, so glad there was nothing worse gone wrong than a broken computer - hope you will be able to get it fixed or replaced very soon. @shelley262, so glad your arm is only slightly sore. This gives me hope...

Breakfast was a poached (silicon) egg on toasted baguette, and another piece of baguette with butter and honey. Lunch was a "traditional" baguette (well, a bit of one!) with cheese, plus a few cherry tomatoes and the end of the olives, followed by the end of the caramel ice-cream (I don't know why I said yesterday's was caramel; it wasn't at all, it was that lovely coffee one!). Supper was steak (yes, twice in one week, and we will have it again on Sunday, very unlike us, but they were on such special offer it would have been rude not to, really. And they are tiny!), served with a dish of onion, sliced potato, a huge tomato and 1/2 a courgette - there was plenty of that, and some left over for tomorrow evening if we need a meal then. We are lunching with my mother and sister, so may not. I could turn it into soup, I suppose...

Noticeably colder here this morning after lots of overnight rain - garden will be happy. Hoping will brighten later to dry planned washing.
I've made a few spaces in the freezer over the last few days so hoping to bake some LC bread to freeze today - so have some in stock when back from my holiday. We have rearranged youngest son's belated birthday celebrations at ours for the following weekend, just as we return from holiday, so will be short of time.
Fish Friday today as usual salmon but possibly with a cheesy topping. I also have some bacon out of the freezer as it was at risk of spoiling and will have for breakfast with an egg over next few days.

Lovely golden dawn again today, and the weather should stay dry for a couple of days now so maybe the grass will get cut - I didn't do it the other day as it was very wet.

@shelley262 pretty cool here too, and our forecast says 3C tonight! I took all the plants out of the polytunnel and composted them, they're all finished now and I saw some whitefly, so I don't want to give them a cosy winter home. The whitefly I get at the moment seem to thrive in lower temperatures, even through mild frosts and they infested a little container of carrots I left in the polytunnel last winter.

Porridge for breakfast, cheese salad for lunch and chicken with vegetables for tea.

Started feeling really grotty again yesterday - BP a bit mixed , BG fine, heart playing silly games (too slow to average to high within moments), nauseous. So I didn't eat anything after breakfast after all.

Not quite back to normal yet but not as bad as yesterday. Had breakfast of crackers and Primula cheese. Tea and water.

Not planning anything else, but we'll see if I feel like eating later.

And that's a wrap! We're now home, and will be for most of the next couple of months - our next trip will be to Vienna at Christmas by train.

So breakfast this morning was a fried egg on a bit of toasted baguette with Boursin, and a bit more baguette with butter and marmalade, plus fruit juice and coffee. Lunch in Sussex was kidneys in Madeira sauce (ready-made, bought from France) with herby mashed potato, also ready-made, broad beans and leeks, followed by a couple of macarons. Supper got a bit lost in all the unpacking, etc, but included chocolate, soup, a hunk of cheese, some nuts and raisins... oh well.

And another one who is very relieved to see your name in the 'members online' list, @Annb !
Had a few chips - frozen and a big disappointment. However, feeling a bit better as a result.

One thing this laptop will let me do is write. I've been spending a lot of time working on a short story. A friend on a Zoom group I am part of was asking (tongue in cheek) why we can't just live on sunlight, like plants do. This suggested a short story to me, so I wrote it and sent it to her. She then read it out to the whole group who demanded to know what happened to my character after the story ended. So I wrote a 2nd episode and sent it to all of them. Now I've written a third episode and am working on a fourth. Just have to see it through now. I think I'm going to have to kill him off, or at least send him off somewhere from which there is no return. This is not my usual genre (SciFi/Fantasy)
