You said earlier you'd been carb-good but calorie-bad...could you reduce your daily calories a bit? How many calories were you having? What's a typical day foodwise?Guys I havent lost a thing despite being so carb good. I think Im going ti have to go another route. The weight loss is extremely important to me and Im getting nowhere fast. You lot have been very supportive xxx
Phew! School holidays = lots of eating out. Im like Carol Voorderman doing the maths at the table. "No chips please" is my new catchphrase. Theres still 3 weeks left and weve got an 8th birthday tomorrow.......cake n everything. Eek! Weigh day in the morning I will be so chuffed if I still manage to lose amidst this calorie chaos!!!!
Blimey - Were you reading my mind?!?You said earlier you'd been carb-good but calorie-bad...could you reduce your daily calories a bit? How many calories were you having? What's a typical day foodwise?

Calories averaged around 1800 according to MFP. Weve eaten out a lot but even so Ive not had chips/spuds/rice/dessert/crisps/sweets/chocolate and Ive entered every mouthful on MFP. Mr H has eaten everything I havent hes like a repository for my uneaten sins and hes losing weight. Ive even bought digital scales so I dont underestimate butter/milk/anything. I even pinched 5 chips last week and worked out what proportion of the portion they were. I am intimate with Wetherspoons/Harvester/Table Table nutritional info sheets, all downloaded onto my phone. Low carbing since June 2nd. HBA1C good. Calories only bad-ish not bad. A woman my size should still lose weight on 1800 even if slowly. I must be getting the carbs right cos of HBA1C. I have sacrificed every single one of my eating pleasures, some of which admittedly have been replaced by new low carb alternatives, but not all. Fed up to the back teeth that my efforts and research are not yielding any results. School holidays are notoriously hard food wise but Mr H will confirm my efforts are gigantic and the things I have resisted would make my doc proud!!!!
What big change and for how long?Cant believe I could change my life so radically with no radical redults. Gonna stop boring everyone now and sulk in my head while smiling on my face at birthday celebrations. New bike gon down a treat and friendship bracelets already partially in the hoover!!!

300g nuts. I used almonds and Brazils.
40g pumpkin seeds
Handful of linseed
30g cocoa powder
50g salted butter
50g peanut butter
5 heaped teaspoons coconut oil softened
Agave syrup to taste
Ground almonds to 'dry out' consistency.
Chop all nuts and seeds in food processor.
Add all ingredients together except ground almond.
Add ground almonds 50g a time until you have a good consistency where you can roll balls in your hands and only get a little bit greasy. They are quite floppy so work fast and be gentle. Just make sure they are 'together'.
Place in grease proof paper and put in fridge for a couple hours. The above will make about 30 balls which will last in the fridge for about a month. You can get creative and add flavouring like vanilla or cinnamon.
They're very morish so keep them hidden in the fridge!

Diagnosed prediabetic Easter 2014. Just left to get on with it, no guidance or help from GP. Every day I'm learning something new.
From 60 to 46. Im delighted of course but it could be soley due to the met. I hadnt been taking it because it was uosetting my stomach so much. Doc changed to slow release and Ive been v. Good with it. Im obviously doing something wrong but my eating has completely changed for around ten weeks. Perhaps slimming world or weight watchers. I must have the willpower or I couldnt have resisted the things I have. Sigh. So, what is the reduction in your HbA1c?
Almond butter would be lovely.Would it be ok to use almond butter? instread of peanut?
From what I have read on here, met is not very dramatic. It just plods away in the background. It is your great efforts and good food choices that have reduced your hba1c so much. This is something you should be very pleased about. From 60 to 46. Im delighted of course but it could be soley due to the met. I hadnt been taking it because it was uosetting my stomach so much.
