What have you eaten today?

Just seen this thread.....its like the Marie Celeste !!! Spooky, in fact.
Anyone not low carbing?

Is it empty as no one is eating carbs other than low carb?

I don't suppose type1s would eat high carb and therefore need more insulin?
Or are there some type1s who need a high carb diet?

What have I eaten today? (so far :p )

65g porridge oats, 3 poached eggs & 2 slices of wholemeal bread @ 16.1 g carbs per slice, 3.5u Humalog, went for a mild swim with the youngest & had 1 glucose tab & a small semi ripe banana, to back home and a tin of tuna with another 2 wholemeal bread. Bloods started at 11 :/ dropped to 4.9 post swim settling at 6.9 post tuna sarnie.

Chicken curry with basmati rice for tea as always & 11 or so units Humalog.

Edit, I wash my rice and chill it in the fridge when cooked, it takes the spike away for me.

Edit x 2, I kind of live on 'chicken curry' which for me is any sauce of under 8g carbs/100g and of which I'd expect no more than 3g sugars, in this I use onion, garlic, carrots spinach & broccoli, Indian one day, Thai the next with an Italian somewhere nearby, always aiming for the carbs to be complex ones digesting 'around' the same speed my body uses my Humalog.

A change for tea, supermarkets own cod gratin, @57 carbs for the full pot :) with a pouch of tilde brown basmati rice & steamed broccoli, spinach and carrot, that's 'around' 11.5 units Humalog for me.

I managed to scrounge a decent lump of cooked lamb from mothers, so I made a 3 portion Indian based curry, with a jar of Pataks dopiaza sauce and loads of broccoli, Christmas day I had eggs Benedict for breakfast :) with a little extra insulin, mid day dinner spiked me to 17 which isn't unusual on Christmas day and one evening I ate 4 M'sons best fishcakes, with rice and veg.

Happy enough 17 was my highest spike mind :)

So far today I have had scrambled egg on one slice of whole meal toast plus a mug of tea for breakfast. Mid afternoon snack of a small handful of nuts (hazelnuts, brazil nuts and couple of walnut halves) I have also just had a homemade cappuccino (no sugar) but made with semi skimmed milk. The cappucino is my one thing I cannot give up. Tonight it is smoked salmon, broccoli, cauliflower, a few carrots and it was gonna be a spoonful of sweetcorn as well but I think I may have to forget the sweetcorn. I am also making a homemade cheese sauce to go with it. I will have to use 1oz flour for the sauce - but I won't be eating it all - so probably the equivalent of 1/2 oz for me.

That was a decent Christmas, I pushed the boat out with eggs benedict again yesterday for breakfast but it's back onto chicken and rice teas again, tonight's is a pataks rogan josh, with fresh spinach, broccoli & carrot, with onions, garlic and a home grown ghost chilli & bay, one portion for tea and two for the freezer :) and cooled reheated basmati rice.

Houston we have a problem.

This weeks eggs are overflowing the poaching cups and making a right mess every morning :p

A busy afternoon starting a Libre trial and having a tooth removed led to a change of tea, fish cakes 4 off @88g carbs, mashed carrot & over steamed broccoli and some mashed spud with cheese, nice but being new to potatoes I overestimated their carbs and had a mild low sugar.
