I had taken by error the pill after lunch that was actualy due in the evening after dinner (1000/50 Janumet) . I was supposed to take 500mg Metformin after lunch . So, with this over doze, I had total 2x1000/50 Janumet in 3 hours gap since morning when I took the morning doze of Janumet . I was hasitant what could be the effect of such over doze . So, checked BS just one hour after lunch and the number was 8.4 . I actually thought it would be less because of double doze of medicine, but looks like it did not influance the number . Best to contact your doctor for advice,
Taking extra doses of some medicines can be harmful. In some cases even one extra dose can cause you problems. If you take extra doses of your medicine, you must get medical advice immediately. You may need a test to assess the effect of taking extra doses. This is because the effects of taking too much medicine are very complex so it is very important that you seek medical advice.

Contact your prescriber, pharmacist, specialist clinic

I can't comment ref harm, although 2000mg of Metformjin is quite normal (it's what I take). Also the standard Januvia dose is 100mg so your 50mg should provide leeway. Metformin has little effect on blood sugar anyway and Januvia only works when the blood suagr is quite high so I wouldn't expect to see much difference.
