Hi, my son age 11 is on a pump, and has been running high for the last 4 hrs. Corrected via pump. No joy. Cannula changed. No joy. Injected correction. No joy. Changed the whole set. No joy. Increased his temporary basal...slow reduction in number.

Feeling :(:confused::mad:

Any suggestions welcome...

Keep an eye on things, qa has a duration of 4~5 hours. All those corrections may catch up, how many did you do? What were the levels.

Hi, I corrected twice on the pump and once with an injection. Highest levels was 15. No ketones. Just checked and is now on 12.8.

I'm thinking puberty? As his diet was great.

Yeah, puberty can have a big impact. Levels going the right way :)
Keep a diary if you don't already over the next week or 2 and see if theres any pattern as things can change.

Weirdly my bg levels have now dropped during the day probably due to warmer weather so have done an 80% tbr and will wait to see if it gets colder before changing basal rates. Weirdly, my bg levels have decided to go very high late evening and that's with reverting back to 100% at 4pm so its not the tbr. This morning woke up to 9.2mmol. The night before was 12.2 at 11pm, did correction ....no joy, changed set...did correction again... did jab with pen and put pump on 120 tbr and then got up at 8pm with 4.1.....
Tonight will be altering the 9pm and 10pm basal and then test at 1am to see how things have gone...
Pumps at times do have their moments..........

On pumps if you get highs don't forget to change the battery in pump as well. This too can cause higher levels before it warns you that the battery needs replacing
