I have just filled my postal vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate, as it is compulsory here in Australia to vote, or get fined for not doing so.

I do wish the UK had a similar system, our first last the post system is not longer fit for purpose as it only benefits the Tories. Especially now, that they have got control of the boundaries commission. They can decide which area is better for them in one area of another. My area is totally labour, and to try and gain control of a constituency, they are moving one housing estate, predominately poor which is now in a safe Labour seat,and replacing with a middle class area instead, this may in the general election go to the government now!
A new law brought in this month, is you have to produce photo i.d. As proof of who you are! The government is also placing many other obstacles in fair elections, such as you need quite a sum of money to stand for parliament,

The sooner our less than democratic process is brought into the 21st century the better!
And get rid of this corrupt, uncaring, right wing government! I could have used a lot more adjectives!

We have a second house called the house of lords, this is not democratically elected!
