hi
a couple of years ago I was controlling my diabeties , I have had so much stress since with other problems no health wise , that it threw me off controlling , I have now forgotten what foods to eat , as I am back to trying to control it again , if there is anyone helpful can yo please sugest some low carb foods for me for breakfasr , lunch dinner

many thanks im struggling again

Perhaps if you look at the lists of foods for Atkins Induction it will give you some ideas. I had some strips for a blood glucose meter and found that all the things I could not eat and lose weight were the very same ones which elevated my BG levels. You can check if you have a meter, and might find that you can eat things higher in carbs than I can, but the Induction lists, plus low carb berries is all I can cope with.

did you loose a lot of weight on the diet doctor diet I might try that one

hi can you give me an idea for breakfast lunch and dinner I know I can eat omelettes , eggs salad but gets boring at times
I have just given you 2 links which contain a huge amount of meal ideas.. I am not going to tell you what to eat... I have no idea of your likes and dislikes.
Personally I have lost nearly 7 stone since following a Low Carb High fat diet combined with intermittent fasting.

You've lost nearly a whole me!! If you lose any more, I can't reassure you I'll get lost though.

@sandysan - If you have a look at the Low Carb list that was posted, you can decide for yourself what you want to eat at each meal, based upon what you like and what you can afford. It doesn't have to be all lobster and rib-eye if you're not keen, and/or just don't fancy it.

you can have any meat, any fish, shellfish, salad vegetables, other low carb vegetables, herbs, - there are pages of foods you can eat in Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution - plus recipes for lots of dishes - there are recipes for low carb versions of just about everything available on the internet - it is the high carb foods which are boring.

There are adds between sections but after the download button is the full list. I did not click the download button.

Buy yourself a copy of Trudi Deakins "Eat Fat" book - it a nice straightforward beginner's low carb guide.

Look at our own low carb section of this forum, particularly at the sticky threads at the top of it, and also have a read of Viv's modified Atkins post and subsequent thread.

And probably join our own Diabetes.co.uk online Low Carb course too?

All useful sources of information for you.

@sandysan - I agree with you on the egg front. Eggs are fabulous as a low-carb food, but I agree that eating them every morning gets a bit much, even if you love them (and I do!). I tend to save them for weekends or for a light evening meal.

A piece of cheese (or even a few different pieces) and some nuts are a good grab and go breakfast if you're working. And type the words "fat bombs" into Google - quite a few of us eat one or two of these for breakfast too. They're very easy to make and extremely portable.

If you wanted you could have leftovers from your dinner for breakfast.

Then there's Bulletproof coffee. One of these will fill you up for a few hours, although you may be put off initially by the idea of adding coconut oil and butter to black coffee and whizzing it all up. I wasn't convinced till I tried one, then I was hooked.

oh gosh I thought I was doing good , for my dinner I eat a whole can of cold bake beans , I thought they were high in protein just looked and the carbs aer 28 in an aldis tin of beans

This is why we need to check the nutrition labels on everything packaged that we buy. The beans themselves have some carbs, but the majority of the carbs in tinned baked beans comes from the sugar-laden sauce.

lol I don't understand what I have to look for on the lables for nutrition
