Hi all,

I know i keep on posting with aome silly question.. As i am making dinner today, i realised it is so difficult to experiment as my culture of food is more like carb; bread, rice and pasta.. Having said that after being diagnosed; its been more than month that i have not eaten rice but pasta for twice as i am making one for dinner tonight.. Brought wholemeal but as comparing found out not much difference in carb then normal pasta so i guess i have to avoid pasta in general instead.. Now i am having difficulty what to eat and what not as everything contains carb and it is just the figure difference.. What are you guys having as lunch and dinner most?? Could you kindly tell me so that i can have more ideas of having different food..

I have not eaten to my stomach full since being T2 too.. So frustated...

Thanks all

I don't do LCHF, but still eat the odd low carb stuff. How about cauliflower rice?

I think it's a Jamie Oliver recipe - whizz up a cauliflower in the food processer, then microwave it for a minute or so, maybe with some water (though I find it does just as well without). I prefer it to rice now.

OOO don't let Jamie Oliver get the credit for cauli rice, its been a staple of the low carb diets for a long time. But must admit I saw him do it on one of his shows and it did look nice.

You may be better with the wholemeal pasta, I know some here can tolerate I can't unfortunately , if you have to do without pasta you will get used to it, I have a big Italian contingency in my family and I managed it, there are lots of alternatives, cauliflower rice as others have mentioned, ribbon veg as pasta alt, or the water noodles, I have had to stop eating these now too though as they give me a really bad tummy.

Lunches I have chicken or prawn stirfry, roasted Mediterranean veggies with feta crumbled in, winter I make my own soups,

My biggest lesson I learnt ( though it took me 50 years to learn it haha) is that there is a big difference between being full and being not hungry - I think it's a good lesson for everyone in general

What about a nice steak, served with either salad or mushrooms, tomatoes, green veggies. Then just a few strawberries with cream?
