Good evening,
New to this.
I ate my evening meal at 7pm and my BGM had a reading of 5.1
I ate a Salmon fillet, 6 grilled cherry tomatoes in olive oil, a portion of courgettes, broccoli, sugarsnaps and green beans. 90 minutes later my blood glucose monitor is showing a red alert, my glucose is going too low but I feel fine.

No idea what that was about, it’s now back to 4.8…maybe a glitch?

It looks as though you only fitted the sensor a few hours ago. If you feel fine I wouldn't worry unduly. See what it reads tomorrow; it could just be an anomaly.

Probably worthwhile checking with a finger prick for your own peace of mind.
Sensors can be erratic at low/ high levels or in the first 24 hours.
I put a note of my finger prick reading in the notes section of the app. It helped me track the accuracy of the sensor readings.

I don’t have the finger prick back up because I’m only just pre diabetic 42 and testing foods on myself. Interestingly it’s dipped again to 3.4 then come up to 3.6 so I think it’s probably calibrating.
if I hadn’t put the thing on I’d be no wiser so unless I feel unwell I’ll just monitor it for now.
Thank you for your message.

As noted sometimes in the first 24 hours the libre (or any CGM) reading can be not entirely accurate, also note that any reading below 5 may be exaggerated downwards - which is why they say to double-check if it shows below 5
Other things to note if you are not taking insulin or other blood glucose lowering medicine (that can cause hypos) then the high 3's are generally fine for normal people.

The CGM's are great for watching trends but sometimes the actual values may be a bit suspect for some - when I was still using the Libre 1 for instance, it normally showed about 1mmol/l below what my sugar level actually was

Hi,

Looking at your cyclist picture. (Observant, sorry.)

Are you wearing any tight clothing (sleeves.) over the sensor?
I’m thinking a possible “compression low?”
Normally caused if lying on the sensor during sleep..

It also could need “bonding in” as some say? To adjust. Recent trauma to the tissue? (Like a reaction to a impaled
Thorn?)
However, I personally don’t get this issue with the libre.

Having put forward what I just did..
I can have some fuzzy logic on the graph with a tight thermal base & some multiple layers?

Edit. Had you eaten prior to that drop? Tagging in @Lamont D & @Brunneria for thought on that one?

Hi Jaycee,
Thank you for your thoughts.

I previously wore this libre link 2 when I was first diagnosed 4 months ago and there were drops which I thought may be due to compression, I sleep on my side But sometimes there were drops during the day too particularly after cycling.

This time I’ve put the BGM on my stomach where Incan pinch an inch. I know unlike Dexcom it’s not registered for use anywhere but your arm but my arms are lean and muscular and if I lie on it it pricks the muscle and wakes me up. In my stomach it does bother the waist line on pants or get compressed when I sleep. Last night there were lots of I've just come from the gym and am wearing tight clothing but it’s working fine.

The reading I took before breakfast was 4.4 and the reading 2hrs later was 6.2 so in the correct range. That also contain the 1hr session of heavy lifting after breakfast which was only yoghurt and nuts.

its going to be an interesting journey.
Attached is the overnight reading.
