What to eat

My husband has just started a low carbohydrate diet as advised by his doctor (we are in Greece and so he doesn't see a diabetic nurse). The problem is that I have no experience with this kind of diet and he is very hungry. Can anyone give any suggestions where I might find sample menus or could someone give some ideas what to replace the missing potatoes, rice and pasta etc with?

Also, I believe that there is a danger of having a hypo if you don't consume enough carbohydrate on certain medication. Is this true?

Thank you for any help.

Dislikes
soaps on telly and people talking about the characters as if they were real.
Some medicines can cause hypos and the dose may need to be reduced.
A simple way to go low carb is
Cut out sugar ( remember to reduce fruit)
Cut down on potatoes, rice, bread, pasta, an d starchy roots
Eat as much as you like of
Meat, fish, eggs, chees, fats like cream and butter and green leafy vegetables and salads.
Increasing fats usually reduces hunger.
If you have access to a copy of "The Atkins diet", it's near perfect for a diabetic on low carb

Thank you for the reply.

I am new to the site and didn't realise there was a low carb forum. Sorry for posting this in the wrong place. I will look at the other forum for more ideas.
