What type am I ?

Hello can anyone tell me which type I actually am? I was diagnosed 20 years ago as type2 but was put on insulin 9 years ago! Now when filling any forms or when asked what type I am I don't actually know.

If you were on tablets for 11 years and now insulin for 9 years you are an insulin dependant type 2. Hope that helps.

Yeah thanks it does ty for your reply. Still on tablets too lots of em for all sorts! Wished I'd listened as was good from the beginning

Hi. I would add to the above posts that if you have not been overweight during much of the time you have been diagnosed and had to go onto insulin despite being slim, then your diagnosis may actually be Late onset T1 rather than T2. This mis-diagnosis is quite common so be aware of it. If, however, as most T2s, you have had some excess weight then you are an insulin dependent T2.
