What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

How dare he not know how many doctors nurses died.. And then Blame them for not using the little PPE they do have correctly
What is interesting is Ruth May the Chief Nursing Officer for England & Wales is also the national director responsible for infection prevention and control she has now become part of the governments 'spin' team and does not really represent the nurses at the coal face whereas Donna Kinnair the chief executive with the RCN puts the position clearly we need her putting these issues to those in power

happy birthday jjraak have a good one x

@gennepher as @penguin have said one of us can phone your vet make the necessary enquiries for you reply on the forum the police would have to let you through any roadblock & allow you to get treatment for Popeye the journey is essential...I agree its is better to write a note if you can get a vet to see Popeye explaining your hearing problems & the purpose of your journey...in the meantime do you have anymore honey or at the very least you could try a mild saline solution it may hurt but could help delay the effects of the infection.

Happy birthday @jjraak hope you really enjoyed your chocolate pudding, custard and wine.

If you remember my valentine date with Laurens dad....

It was a far nicer pudding yesterday then that was.. and I raved over that.

So yes, thank you
And thank you all for the good wishes .
A special birthday in a few ways,
But especially sharing that meal with Lauren ,both making.." Mmhh" noises as we ate it, like two small naughty kids, really

Much to be grateful for

Morning All. 5.1 probably due to a couple or three gins at sunset.
Happy Birthday @jjraak glad you enjoyed the treats and you’ll always be young JJ to your auntie Pengie
@gennepher we all want to help you so let us know what we can do.
Praying for you and Popeye.
Stay well, stay safe ALL.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who had birfdays @jjraak. During my plinky plonky practice this morning I played happy birthday, very badly, just be greatful you didn't hear it.

An unsurprising 7.8 this morning.

Well folks the temptation to give the bike a run was great this morning, but uncommonsense prevailed.

@ianpspurs Sorry but like you I never read fiction, just factual books, by such author's as Terry Pratchet, Spike Milligan, the Flat Earth Society Journal and David Walliams which up till recently I have borrowed from my grandson.

Attached hopefully is a picture of my exploding breakfast on the patio.
I must go now and catch my protein for tonight's BBQ

Good morning everyone from another wonderful day in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of staying at home and protecting my sanity came in at 4.7 this am

Eggs - who would have thought that they would now be added to our ration cards. Even carrying three separate shopping lists (ours, mothers and daughters) Mrs Miggins was restricted to 12 (either a box of 12 or two boxes of 6) - so where did those boxes of 15 go to? Probably only available if your are a member of parliament and need an extra ten grand to stay at home and watch Netfix.

Just realised that the song Hey Sinner Man by Nina Simone is not about hot cross buns after all

Happy Birthday to @jjraak and massive virtual hugs with over 2m of separation to @gennepher and Popeye.

Have as wonderful a day as you can. There are rumours of a video linked afternoon tea so best get on with cutting crusts off slices of bread for Mrs Miggins.
Koffy calls.

Where would you move on to?

7.4 this morning in a dark and trying-to-be-dangerous south.

Happy Birthday @jjraak and many happy returns.

@gennepher Hugs and prayers for Popeye and you. And to all your good friends-in-need here with offers of help.
Good morning Saskia. Isnt it way too early for you to be stirring? Hope all good with you and the KC.

Good morning/afternoon.
You are right, it is very early. I woke up, and then I was hungry, and then the KittenCat wanted breakfast, so we got on up. But now, fed and watered/coffeed, I have just gotten back into bed and am waiting for her to join me.

How are you and your girlcats?

I’m back.

I went out quickly because that was the one hour window the local vet was open before coronavirus. I was hoping to see someone in there. But there was no one there.

Their main hospital is quite a way away. It was a landline number to phone (no mobile).

I had seen @PenguinMum ‘s offer to telephone before I went out, so just thought I would come back with this number.

But the fruit and veg lady (in her 80’s I mentioned the other day) waved to me so I went in and explained it all. And my deafness. She got on her mobile with the vet number. I don’t know what transpired over that because I couldn’t follow the conversation she had. Then she made another couple of calls. She asks a few questions and asks me if I have a car. I said yes. Then she tells me a farm vet, over the border will leave some antibiotic tablets in an envelope pinned to the door. Can I go? Yes I said.

I am crying as I am driving. The police checkpoint couldn’t get much coherent sense out of me and let me through. The tablets were pinned to the door (it looks like he has given out tablets that way before with the pin holes). And on the envelope was written NO CHARGE.

I am back home now. Popeye has had his first tablet (it took him by surprise).

I am tired.

Thank you for all your advice and help and support this morning. I will go through your individual messages in a minute.

Thank you for being here.

And on the envelope was written NO CHARGE.
Well done gennepher as for the farm vet & the vegetable lady what a gift that was...phew feel I can breathe a sigh of relief for you at least you can do your best for Popeye now...we're all behind you & him...fingers crossed.

@gennepher oh for the kindness of strangers. There is so much good in all this pandemic everywhere if we look for it. You must be so relieved and exhausted.
Take a well earned rest and eat something, anything! I wish I could send a drone to drop some hot x buns into you!
