Thanks for that. This recipe is a variation on one which so nearly works for me - the original (Sarah Myhill) just has water and flaxseed. The swoon sisters include egg which IMHO doesn't really work in bread.

Amazing crust and I like the flavour but from the comments on youtube about 50% find the inside remains soggy. Time to try again with new ovens and a little time on my hands with no real garden. https://hemsleyandhemsley.com/recipe/flaxseed-buns/ - ignore the maple syrup. Very filling but heavy on the eggs now we don't have our own hens. Superb for transit issues, freeze well and toast really well - we make/made as a huge flatish tray tray full cut into 12 then halved
I will be fascinated, pleased for you and miffed in equal proportions if you manage to avoid the soggy middle. The crust is amazing when liberally buttered. The Sarah Myhill flax loaf now sitting in the oven getting a tan.
Don't know if you are managing to keep in touch with all your class. but just thought I would mention the way I am keeping in touch with friends. We have been using FreeConference App - don't know if you know it, its a free app which allows you to set up a conference call. It can be used with either a smart phone or landline. You set up a conference and are then given a free phone number and ID number for others to call you with so your conference becomes a shared space so everyone can talk to each other (this needs some management though as if everyone talks together it becomes chaotic. The line can be a bit ropey but for a free app its not too bad and a nice way for everyone in your class to say hello to each other if they are used to coming together as a group. Whilst I have only used it for audio partly because of the benefit of being able to use it on a landline, if you install the app on your phone you can set up a video link.Yes - I have been doing the same. It has been lovely to actually read fiction again.. Although classes are suspended we are all keeping in touch with emails, texts and phone calls. Lots and lots of them. I am at the moment emailing funny doggie videos to clients who love animals. They are hillarious. So perhapsnot really strange that the time is flying by.

You might see my other half there, he is a happy bunny when he is watching cartoons.5.3 this morning now I'm off to the Disney channel for some light mindless entertaining relief from this terrible reality we seem to be stuck in, things are far too serious in the real world.
Had my ear pieced once when the cat we had which used to just about live on my shoulders fell off and clung on!Amazing how those little claws can dig deep Krystyna...it hurt like hell & bled a lot...it's better this morning but both of them look so sweet & innocent they're like tigers this morning.

Yes they are Ryhia that's his nick name he is a little sweetie really...silly & daft but a kindly soul Harry or 'Plumpy' is my friend next doors dog but he wanders in here all the time stays overnight & generally moves in when he feels like it...since the lock down the gate is closed but he cries right at the gate I go out and throw his treats over...he was used to the previous cat Churchill who sadly has to be put down last Aug...Charlie & Lola arrived mis December and Harry is deperate to be their friend...he's kind but because of his size one lick knocked them over...but we've made great progress and when he came in a few days ago Lola put him on lock down i.e. the photos...they have me in hysterics sometimes."Plumpy"

A well known supermarket just suggested we substitute baking powder with 18 party candles - perfect choice .

@Ryhia sad news. Very sorry to read about this situation.
@ianpspurs happy birthday to Julie. How lovely for her to get a hug in the mail.
@Debandez and @PenguinMum sorry you feel need to leave thread. Please come back once things have calmed down.
Unsure how to react to that. Sorry for the wasted time, flaxseed, power and lard - you did line the tin liberally I hope - but pleased you couldn't make it work either. I at least ate the crusts with plenty of butter. Thank you @Ryhia on behalf of Julie and so sorry to hear about the sad news of the elderly lady.Well that ended up being as useful an experiment as the functional advantages of using a chocolate fireguard on bonfire night.
Crust salvaged to grind into flour for other things - soggy interior consigned to the bird feeders for expert opinions.
Thank you very much @SlimLizzyThis is gorgeous
