What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I hope your toes are not too painful @SlimLizzy

Hugs for your sister.

Good morning everyone from another day of challenge and decision making in the dark and dangerous nort

The wonder wheel of that excellent marriage of chicken with chorizo came in at a spiced up 4.3 this am

University College news letter arrived in my inbox: “A new term has begun and we have welcomed back all our students, but virtually!” Lots of information about virtual activities this term including virtual open days. I have contributed with a virtual donation.

Loppers and saws yesterday. Bushes and shrubs overgrowing out over the pavement at the front so regimental haircuts all round and Mrs Miggins making several trips to the now open (only six in at a time) recycling centre.

All the best to those who are returning to work today. I have elected to continue practicing my shielding for a while yet.

Have the very best day that you can on this International Bin Day, I shall have koffy and talk to the sofa.

Simple 6 today, no frills or fancies to behold

Despite the govt telling me I can/cannot rampage around the country I think I'll just stay here, maybe I'll be safe from Schrödinger's Virus .

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who need koffy on this national bin day.

Did I say I need koffy?
Black, no sugar thanks. A 7.2 this morning.

Must go koffy is required, have a great time queuing at the recycling plant and garden centre if that's your type of thing, must go, did I say I need koffy?

Morning...another successful click & collect yesterday so we have provisions for the next couple of weeks while we 'bog' down at home...a social event this evening with the neighbours dinner in the garden & no breach of lockdown provisions...we have yet to work out the seating arrangements to maintain social distancing but we'll manage...some Pink Gordons with tonic plus prosecco if we can manage it the first time we've had dinner guests since the start of the year. so looking forward to it...succumbed to toasted crumpets yesterday I blame @Alien Aspie totally...woke to a 6.5 and a sunny but cold day.

Big (virtual) hug for the toe injury and worry over your sister. Heavy outdoor work seems to have been beneficial to your fbg so some positives from the day. Hope all goes as well as possible for your sister - Magli's journey offers plenty of hope - and you continue to make progress without further injury.

London mayor say wear a mask of public transport,
govt only advise...
I have some masks on order not for everyday use but as I have regular clinic appointments shall use them then...not the blue surgical ones got some from Home Health UK FFP2 masks three for just under £12.00 pounds including 1st class postage.

My pastel painting.
Just a quickie.
Used fingers to smudge it all over quickly.
About 20 minutes.
It's too cold out there and I need my bed now...
It's stratus cloud, done from a photo thumbnail in my weather book...I missed out all the houses and just did fields...

@SlimLizzy hugs for family news and toe, ouch! Sounds like you are getting the rain disaster sorted, well done. The Cuckoo sound is one of my favourite uplifting bird calls for this time of year, I have heard many this week Cannock Chase is blessed with lots of them and they call frequently each day, seldom see them though.

Survived the Tesco forage, went earlier than OAP time, but seems so did many others. Not so bad quite civilised, more wearing masks. The orderly queue was a bit concerning as I could hear a lady constantly coughing and the lady behind me kept moving into my social distance space. I am still quite deaf in one ear and so could not tell where cough was, I then realised it was the lady behind the one trying to invade my space, I did not blame her it was a bad cough. The only plus was the coughing lady was wearing a mask. So I have made myself not judge, she may have had no choice but to shop, perhaps no friends, relatives close, perhaps it's just Hay Fever, no click and collect or delivery available as I well know, what are such people supposed to do? So we are going to be very much at risk for a very long time, maybe this is here to stay and we are all going to have to get used to finding ways to live with it, what a change to society.

@gennepher Nice landscape! I love useing my fingers with Pastels and the side of my hand to merge the sky colours, messy though.

Glad you came home relatively unscathed from shopping. As you rightly say, there are so many who have no choice but to brave the outside world. I am not prepared to enter shops (or use click and collect), tips or anywhere else for a very long time but count my blessings that I seem to be in a position which makes that feasible. Huge sympathy for those of you who need to leave home for work or shopping. A very fine line between self preservation and putting other people at risk for my sake.

I'm getting regular click & collect from Tesco's but not locally I keep checking the site they have four potential Tesco's I can collect from...some are a thirty or forty minute drive but I figure I'd probably spent that amount or more time queuing and at least I can sit in my car...Asda also has some click & collect slots they will give you their dates for the next two weeks so I usually find one a week to ten after I've had shopping...I check throughout the day sometimes they release slots mid afternoon.

thanks ian i dont normally associate myself and normal in the same sentence but hey ho

hope your sister recovers quickly slimlizzy sending hugs x

I do agree with you it's a difficult moral dilemma that I have to make once a week, risk me, risk my kids, deliveries or click and collect would be good, maybe travel further afield as @HarryBeau suggests, easier now restrictions are slowly lifting. However we can't as a society live in fear for ever I think the rest of my life is going to be on a new level of being 'alert' as much as I hate the use of that phrase, social distancing, no unecassary cafe visits when out, more time spent in wilderness and open spaces, less in theatres, folk festivals, pubs, galleries and in Mrs MCs case museums. Performances to the public will also have to be reconsidered, not from our bands point of view but to discourage others gathering in large groups, not that our audiences were ever thousands. Socialising with families is probably one of the largest risk areas as our kids and grandchildren will meet many people in day to day life, but I am not prepared to lock myself away from them for ever, we will have to find ways of meeting, my sons already coming up with some good ideas. Life is precious and miraculous and too wonderful a gift to constantly be put on hold in my honest opinion we all have to find ways to live with the virus safely in society
