Looks like summer out there, but it's cold, just as yesterday was. Got a man coming soon to assess, estimate cist of work. And I think one of the local farmers,, who lived in this house years ago is going to come with his tractor and unblock the gate. At least that what I think he said. He has no English and my french has trouble keeping up with rapid fire speech.
Yesterday: Idea was to start clearing the mud from the barn, did have a go before and filled the barrow then realised I couldn't move it. So shovelling clay out of the barrow into bucket before I could start. Heavy tiring work, but once started on the barn, not as bad as expected, was able to clear a significant amount.
Sorted out the salad bed. Then back to barn clearing. Managed to clear far enough to get the mower out and my bike. Both are ok. Cleared a bit more, while moving some tools managed to drop something heavy, didn't move fast enough and it caught two toes. It's good thing nobody was listening. Back to my garden. Some plants are already begining to recover. While I was working, a cuckoo landed in a tree nearby.
Have never seen one so close, tried to get my video but it flew off before I could focus, do have 30 seconds of sound though.
Later on phone chat with Mum. My sister is ill and it seems likely she has the virus. Symptoms much as described by @maglil55 . My mother is seriously worried.
Can tell by her voice.
Get/stay well, stay safe everyone. Never mind deconfinement. STAY SAFE.

Big (virtual) hug for the toe injury and worry over your sister. Heavy outdoor work seems to have been beneficial to your fbg so some positives from the day. Hope all goes as well as possible for your sister - Magli's journey offers plenty of hope - and you continue to make progress without further injury.13-05-2020

I have some masks on order not for everyday use but as I have regular clinic appointments shall use them then...not the blue surgical ones got some from Home Health UK FFP2 masks three for just under £12.00 pounds including 1st class postage.London mayor say wear a mask of public transport,
govt only advise...
Well done a sound precaution.Without a mask, might have gone hone empty handed.
Alas...NO!!!!!I'd have eaten it gennepher...got anymore?
Glad you came home relatively unscathed from shopping. As you rightly say, there are so many who have no choice but to brave the outside world. I am not prepared to enter shops (or use click and collect), tips or anywhere else for a very long time but count my blessings that I seem to be in a position which makes that feasible. Huge sympathy for those of you who need to leave home for work or shopping. A very fine line between self preservation and putting other people at risk for my sake.@SlimLizzy hugs for family news and toe, ouch! Sounds like you are getting the rain disaster sorted, well done. The Cuckoo sound is one of my favourite uplifting bird calls for this time of year, I have heard many this week Cannock Chase is blessed with lots of them and they call frequently each day, seldom see them though.
Survived the Tesco forage, went earlier than OAP time, but seems so did many others. Not so bad quite civilised, more wearing masks. The orderly queue was a bit concerning as I could hear a lady constantly coughing and the lady behind me kept moving into my social distance space. I am still quite deaf in one ear and so could not tell where cough was, I then realised it was the lady behind the one trying to invade my space, I did not blame her it was a bad cough. The only plus was the coughing lady was wearing a mask. So I have made myself not judge, she may have had no choice but to shop, perhaps no friends, relatives close, perhaps it's just Hay Fever, no click and collect or delivery available as I well know, what are such people supposed to do? So we are going to be very much at risk for a very long time, maybe this is here to stay and we are all going to have to get used to finding ways to live with it, what a change to society.
@gennepher Nice landscape! I love useing my fingers with Pastels and the side of my hand to merge the sky colours, messy though.
Hmmn so you sayAlas...NO!!!!!
I'm getting regular click & collect from Tesco's but not locally I keep checking the site they have four potential Tesco's I can collect from...some are a thirty or forty minute drive but I figure I'd probably spent that amount or more time queuing and at least I can sit in my car...Asda also has some click & collect slots they will give you their dates for the next two weeks so I usually find one a week to ten after I've had shopping...I check throughout the day sometimes they release slots mid afternoon.no click and collect or delivery available as I well know,
thanks ian i dont normally associate myself and normal in the same sentence but hey hoGood morning everyone. 5.9. As an fbg in the context of this forum =. Utterly meaningless outside of carbworld in the big scheme of things. Good to read normality has resumed @karen8967 and I echo your sentiments for returnees. 2nd day of being distinctly orf colour. Temp steady at 34- 34.6 ( my normal) and bgs bouncing about all over. Could well be hay fever in new environment but I haven't found a way of avoiding regular little spells like this with LC. Best course seems to be to hunker down and let it pass. Very tempting to overdo the readings and obsess about doing better i.e fast and hammer the exercise. Hopefully I have learned that is entirely the wrong direction. The phrase comfort food doesn't really appear in my LC dictionary - patience is needed. Have a safe day and may your blessings be apparent and abundant..
hope your sister recovers quickly slimlizzy sending hugs x13-05-2020

I do agree with you it's a difficult moral dilemma that I have to make once a week, risk me, risk my kids, deliveries or click and collect would be good, maybe travel further afield as @HarryBeau suggests, easier now restrictions are slowly lifting. However we can't as a society live in fear for ever I think the rest of my life is going to be on a new level of being 'alert' as much as I hate the use of that phrase, social distancing, no unecassary cafe visits when out, more time spent in wilderness and open spaces, less in theatres, folk festivals, pubs, galleries and in Mrs MCs case museums. Performances to the public will also have to be reconsidered, not from our bands point of view but to discourage others gathering in large groups, not that our audiences were ever thousands. Socialising with families is probably one of the largest risk areas as our kids and grandchildren will meet many people in day to day life, but I am not prepared to lock myself away from them for ever, we will have to find ways of meeting, my sons already coming up with some good ideas. Life is precious and miraculous and too wonderful a gift to constantly be put on hold in my honest opinion we all have to find ways to live with the virus safely in societyGlad you came home relatively unscathed from shopping.
