no 1 is a fairly disasterous rendition of a Keith Nash painting I saw on Pinterest, he's an artist from Norfolk, lots of abstract watery landscapes with dramatic skies. My struggle was (obviously) with water control, which has resulted in some spectacular sky cauliflowers

no 2 - the Hawthorn here is less developed than further South, this bit was clipped a few days ago from the tree next to Mum's gate.

Scary devil face I posted a pic of last night (a couple of posts ago) in the evening light before I tried to go to sleep (my eyes were glued on it to make sure it didn’t get any closer), is still scary devil face in the early morning light.

I really don’t like the way it moves...

Every now and then it pretends to be a bird with feathers on its head to fool me....

I think I will get my gardening tree lopping tools out later...

Good Morning and 6.3 today, not surprised as I was 7.8 last night, worked out carb intake for yesterday and it amounted to 28grams, puzzled by higher reading. Fibromyalgia playing up, i blame that as I blame it for any other ailments.

Cold bright day so bike ride this morning after works rush hour leave the roads clear, hard to negotiate all those Cyclists in their business, suits, overalls and uniforms being responsible citizens and puffing, panting and perspiring their way to work.

Had a video call with MIL yesterday, she seemed chipper, so Mrs MC felt a bit easier even though it was short and sweet, MIL can't concentrate more than a few seconds at a time, bless her.

@gennepher i agree with @Alien Aspie you have a friendly greenman, good you are leaving well alone.

Enjoy what ever the day offers you, if it's not enjoyable take wisdom from it and apply it well.

My sister is doing ok, so far.
I was and still am, worried about her. She seems to get infections either not at all, or be very ill. An independent lady, she won't admit to being unwell until she is really sick and needs help.

Yes I am getting muscles on my muscles. Sadly no abs though.
And disappointingly, no assessment either. He was a no show. Today will be calling my english contact for emergencies only to ask advice. MrSlim is concerned that the mud will set like concrete soon and be impossible to shift. He is probably right on this one.
Today more barn clearing, and am hoping to tackle the root vegetable bed. Plus I need to find MrSlims hedging plants, many of which are buried under debris and mud, pointing downwards, where the fence gave way. Its all fun here.

Unfortunately my delicious crunchy almond butter will have to remain in lockdown for the foreseeable future - unless I can trust myself to only have one teaspoon at time.

The run of lovely low fbs continues with a 4.8 this morning. A shame really because I was hoping to prove that locking the almond butter away had absolutely no affect on my BS ,- but sadly it does.

I agree, these messages, likes, hugs, emojies, really do brighten up our days.

A bright, clear and chill morning in Breckland. Fbg 5.4 (best of 3 scans on 2 devices) along with other non course and distance winners suggests something is orf but not urgent. I am overdue some camera work and blood letting, which would reveal more than the blunt and unreliable instrument of bg. Blow that for a game of soldiers right now however much I trust Addenbrookes.. @SlimLizzy I hope the barn work and hedging plant search go well. The heavy work suits your fbg. Take care, be enraptured if at all possible and avoid being dismantled like a Duplo trainset.

I once went on a bike forum as you do, for help and assistance.. Much like many do on this one.

The advice was there in a static form.
And replies to post took weeks until the next poster..it was on its knees and close to collapse.

I wanted it to survive, so made it my goal to post for others to at least have something fresh to read if they did visit..and replied to every post .

I do here, or at least acknowledged most with an emoji, as I honestly believe if someone bothers to write for us, we should acknowledge it in some way..whether we agree or disagree.

The forum grew and went on to be quite successful.. Meet ups, post in the dozens daily.

What made it grow ?,. We could have all spoken just of spark plugs..but that wasn't all we were.

The posts, just like in here, fleshed us out, let us see that maybe we are more alike then we think.
And even helped form friendships.

So.. Forums can be good.
Chat can be good.

Hence why I love this thread over so many others.

Long may it continue.

Good morning everyone (including green men) from lure of the azure in the not quite dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of vegetable stir fry with jackfruit came in at a “well you have to try these things” 6.2 this am

Jackfruit - star of that carry on film, “Carry On Jack” - a darker than dark comedy about meat substitutes, filmed in black and white by Ingmar Bergman. The plot centres around a couple of manic foragers, both dressed like Crocodile Dundee, sat facing each other at a table, trying individual portions of hyped up meat alternatives that have been presented in the shape of farm animals sculptured by Grayson Perry, throwing their still full plates into a large dustbin and then shouting out to their blind, one legged butler, “Carry on Jack”.

I don’t even remember how that tin of Jackfruit sneaked into the larder - there is also a tin of “heart of palm” in there also that must have been purchased by chimp one day when it escaped down the “crazy yet edible” isle in the supermarket. Luckily that particular product can be treated like calamari so I might have a go at that at some point and then that will be another daft item on the TO DONE list.

On the home front, Escape Plan 3: Silent Bob the hedgehog has now trundled off to pastures new. Having discovered the hole in our next door neighbours fence we popped her (or possibly him, or Ms) right in front of it when it got dark and, with the speed of a striking slug, off it jolly well went. At some point. All very hush hush.

@gennepher - first though was a very large avent-garde bird but green man fits the bill. Avent-garde birds are apt to get folk into trouble especially when flitting about between nouns and adjectives.

Have the very best day that you can, clapping tonight, avoid the dustbin lid and fireworks crowd if you can, koffy calls.

I have been out in the garden and said Good Morning to him...

Painting for the day. In soft pastels.
Not a cloud in the sky here.
Sky is a uniform blue, no contrails, and a blinding sun, so the day is heating up quickly.

And so I had to turn to my trusty weather book, for inspiration on clouds.
According to the weather book, these are coastline clouds, which we do get a lot of here.

Imagine sailing up the river and into the Irish Sea on a day like today...
(The iPad camera has made this pastel a bit gaudy, I did tone it down in a photo app, but it still looks gaudy to me)
