What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Weather forecast is terrible, thunderstorms and heavy rain. Usually heavy rain is shown by three raindrops, but today there are four.
Have been up in the loft performing bodgery on one of the places that leak. The worst one however is right at the top and totally out of reach. The only good news is that the wind is from the south east, so that spot is somewhat sheltered by the chimney.

Morning...although working remotely from home didn't finish until 9pm last night...bed late but nonetheless up at 6am lo & behold working began shortly after that...not complaining no travel involved & I don't have to comb my hair wear tights or 'proper' shoes so good with that...one coffee in another brewing possibly with a little toast for breakfast...I may make a little effort for work I may not all done by speaker today I think...if not someone may be in for a real surprise...woke to a 6.5

Well us sophisticated folk down here in England are allowed to create a social bubble...so a single household (person) can go to another household not have to socially distance & even stay overnight if they wish to...it seems a little odd but apparently the government have said how some people may be lonely or suffering from social isolation...there you have it!

Well, I hope they get the talk about ‘safe sex’ that @jjraak (I think it was) said he found he was supposed to have been told which was on his medical records before his non-India trip. Or at the very least we might need to train some more midwives in preparation for next March...

Coronavirus boom babies it will be written up as in the history books...
 
good morning all

4.4 yesterday and 4.5 today

an odd day yesterday, got everything ready quite early because we were going over to mum's so mr gee could take her into town to collect her pension.

Out to unlock and load the car, ... nothing doing, couldn't unlock the car, try the other remote key, nothing. Managed to get the car unlocked with the emergency key. Will it start... no mr gee checks it all over and apparently the tailgate door was closed but hadn't completely latched, result - flat battery Phone mum to let her know we'll be late.

Mr gee gets out the battery charger and I stay out of the way and get things ready to paint later An hour later we've put some charge in the battery and managed to get it to start but now we're too late to catch the morning session at the post office mum uses.
Over to mum's with the soup for lunch and we arrive to 'while you're here......' the riser to the hosepipe standpipe is leaking

Suffice it to say it took us all day to do what we thought was a little trip to the post office with mum.

On the upside I did a quick biro sketch of an aquilegia in mum's garden on a bit of typing paper whilst sitting with Katy to keep her occupied and out of the water, she just loves to try to catch the water drops

When we eventually got home mr gee had a shower and a nap and then we ate just before 8pm.

Hopefully we'll have a slightly less fraught day today
It's grey and a bit soggy outside so indoor jobs are on the menu.

@ianpspurs - it looks like the libre sensor is happily feeding your thirst for data

@Muddy Cyclist - progress on the latest painting is promising, I enjoy seeing the progression of the way you work, I haven't done any large art pieces, I've tended to work fairly small so far

@gennepher - looks like the program you used most recently has some interesting tools and I like the colour pallet you used. I must say that the sky of your pastel has some lovely subtle colour effects.
Storing art supplies can be a bit of a thing, I've got it stashed all over the place in odd bits of drawer space and I need to collect things together so I can find things, I have my paintings in an A4 carboard box file in date order at the moment

Art catch up - a copy of a painting by Vladmir Toporshin which I saw on Pinterest, he used an interesting combination of colours in the sky, nothing like as good as the original but an interesting exercise just the same

The Procreate program has a lot of interesting tools, and so many tools within each one. It is going to take a lifetime to figure out...

I am trying to categorise and organise all my different art supplies. So hopefully I will then know what I have, and hopefully I will know where to find it ...

I absolutely love your Vladimir Toporshin inspiration for your painting. I have googled the name but I can’t find anything on Google under his name.

The whole painting is effective, and the lightning.

an agreeable day yesterday.

finally climbing out of the Covid cocoon.

dropped scooter of at 9 am.

call a few minutes ago, needs new tyre.
Expected, i suppose, so meh.

walk back was nice
so will be a walk a day from now on,
may even go back to the jogging,
and try and build up the fitness until
the next wave hits (please god NO..Just NO )

so no real plan for rest of day,
would like Lauren to join me for ride out to bed in the new tyre,
but i think she might have plans.

so likely me & Pablo off into the world Blue Yonder,
thinking i look like this..

if the tsunami now becomes unstoppable, T2D advice MUST change, mustn't it ?

Can we really have an economy and a health service at this juncture, crippled by trying to manage a disease, with ever increasing medication,
when MANY of us find we can manage it much better with food & exercise with less or NO pharmaceuticals.
 
Apparently it also works the other way around, so that my daughter and family could visit me. Very unlikely to happen though.

Much better weather than expected today. Bit of rain in the morning, nice sunny afternoon, no torrential downpours
So my bodge repair of zinc flashing with a bit of rubber car mat was not tested.
.Happy with that.
Spent lot of time in the veg garden, bit of digging in organic matter, lot of weeding, put in some more seeds,
Cat is pretending to be dog today. Doglike behaviour, going with me wherever up and down the garden, lying nearby when i am working... not used to cat behaving in that way. There are no treats in my pockets.
made some more of the diet doctor Best Keto Bread. It didn't rise much in the oven. Is this normal for this recipe ?

Lightning around midnight, sheets and sheets of white lightning across the sky. Very magnificent to watch. Completely lit up my bedroom.

That must have been rain with it because it's wet outside now.

A beautiful dawn, lovely blue skies, the sun just touching the tips of my trees...

I am off out in my garden to enjoy the best of the day, because according to the weather app we're getting thunder and lightning again around midday....

And before that, the football kicking against the garage door grandson next door usually arives about 10:00 a.m. on a Sunday

May the thunderstorm arrive early. Much better to listen to thunder than a monotonous football being kicked against a garage door just yards away from where I sit on my thatched swing (or in my bungalow) for hour after hour...

Good Morning and 5.7 for me today.

Well social bubble madness. My son and his girls asked Mrs M C and I to go on a bike ride yesterday afternoon. Pre bike ride problems should have been a warning not to go. Sons peddle came loose less than 10 metres from our home, my bag zip burst trying to find a tool to fix it, returned home, made repair, changed bag. Set out again and about 2 miles away realised I had not got my house keys in pocket, phoned neighbour, keys in front door which was wide open. Carried on to Cannock Chase. CROWDS!! It was like Blackpool Prom on the busiest of days. We found what we though was a quiet spot for a picnic. People with dogs just allowed them to walk amongst us sniffing food, not just a few but this happened 12 times. No one apologised, no one even tried to control the dogs, even when asked to, nightmare, I had to physically hold my son or there would have been a few punches thrown. As for social distancing, forget it. I really risked assess this outing badly, no more weekend activity for me, staying firmly in our garden, there seems to be less and less respect of any kind and where have all these people suddenly appeared from? Cannock Chase was always quiet other than the odd Bank Holiday.

So no painting again yesterday, loft, bike ride, family time, mobile provider problems took up the day.

@gennepher nice Pastel like the colours in this one very much.

@geefull Super watercolour a real strong and well painted picture.

More loft work required, I am really struggling with it I think we might have to call in a professional some time in the future to do a proper job, how worrying is that virus wise? Still for now I won't have to balance on a chair to open it so safer.
