Morning...amazing the difference a reasonable nights sleep makes...sun is shining expecting rain later we need it enjoyed the mini spell we had yesterday...amazing the U-turn yesterday on free school dinners during the summer yesterday rightly so...paperwork to do from my busy weekend then for some invoicing...ooh more coffee then onto do some work...woke to a 6.3

an odd couple of days health wise.
sore throat Monday/Tuesday.
some Olbas oil with the idea it clears the airways and may deplete any germs..
soreness gone today..yippee

But i am a little more chesty today, but cleared up and after a good 'cough'

last two days busy 75% normal i'd say.
today...GHOST TOWN.

If we didn't keep up to date i would have thought we had missed a new lockdown alert.

the truth has been a casualty, ever since blair and undoubtedly before.
but it's where me and the Beeb parted company.

Almost all the news Org's give us the news THEY think we need to be aware of
each with various spins* etc to attract/interest THEIR readers / Viewers.

is it bad, maybe..but they do make us aware, of things we may not know.

OUR civic duty* is when alerted* to GO and find supporting data/ read alternative views,
and THEN decide the TRUTH**

So has the media been corrupted by covid ?...naw.

Happened a long term ago, its the first casualty of any govt's victory
but many are only just realising.

Be Alert, trust Nothing.
Don't just participate, Investigate

Although a large part of it I'm not sure it was just that jjraak... I heard the party whips were furiously contacting their members to see how they would vote and the indication is many would have voted with the opposition & Govt. would have lost that vote...hence the U-turn but it shows what collective action can do.
 
Painting for today. Carried on with yesterday’s type of painting. As in the You tube video of yesterday.

Did two 8 inch canvases with washi tape dividing into 4.

Fist pic is both canvases, the purply one done first, the other done second, with the tape pulled off when dry.

Second pic is both canvases before washi tape is taken off. It took less than half hour to do each.

I prefer the second painting, because it gives me ideas of colour combinations for moody landscapes...

The first painting (purply) I will probably put it into one of my digital apps and work from there with it.





It is just playing with colours!
 
Second big sky, based on a plein Air sketch I did of yesterday afternoons clouds. This is looking North West up the Vale of Trent from Wolseley Estates, I was walking Moet our Labrador over the bridleways yesterday and these clouds were quickly building, hot air balloonists nightmare.

A4 watercolour about 1 hour painting time with waits for paper to dry between layers. I have included the pencil sketch as a thumbnail.

 
This looks very similar to view as I was cycling home few mins ago. Fields, big sky. Clouds building up.

Ofc Gennepher. Do you take milk?
Mix of flavours in that batch. Thyme , rosemary, celery salt, chilli salt. Won't use the salts again. Bit too much. However have some sumac and other herbs to try. Maybe parmesan (ersatz) would be tasty.
Another thing. Their shelf life is very short. About 20 mins.

These were all old tubes, old incomplete sets of watercolor, and the same for acrylics, and the same for gouache. This is just me messing to play with colours, and so it didn't matter they were a mixture of paints that shouldn't normally go together.

I wouldn't do this with such free abandon with a good set of new tubes of any of these colours.

I still have a big bag of these old tubes of paints and I'm going to have a few more goes with this, partly to use up the paint, and partly to see what new combinations of colour I might come up with, that I wouldn't do normally with being careful with the price I pay for good paints.

I know I have some old oil pastels I've had for about 30 years,and I'm going to try and fish out all the old stuff I've got and just put it in a huge bag or a pile...

The reason why I used a small canvas, rather than a huge sheet of paper the one woman in the YouTube video put on the wall with much larger squares, was so that I could put my hand in in the back of that small canvas turn it around and revolve it round as I was applying the colours. I didn't have it flat on the table, not all the time. A lot of the time I was holding in the air and twisting it this way and that way as I was applying the colours @Muddy Cyclist
