What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

good afternoon all :)

4.2 yesterday and 4.6 today

by the look of it the less I have to do the more time it takes me to do it :sorry:

forgot to post yesterday because we went out for a walk in the evening, did do some art, once again was trying out doing things in a slightly different style, it didn't impress me much when it was finished, :hilarious: even mr gee decided it wasn't my best effort. I'll post it one day just because...there is always a delay in the art I post though because I have to get out the scanner so I usually scan them a batch at a time.

Yesterday we managed to get some shed tidying done outside :joyful: which is why our walk took place quite late in the evening, it was still very pleasant though :)

This morning we were off out fairly early to take mum to a neighbouring town to go to her bank branch. Before the C19 lockdown they used to run a bank branch in a van two mornings a week to the nearest town but that was discontinued at the beginning of the lockdown. Mum was understandably getting a bit twitchy about having several weeks pension money sitting in the house.

Not too many people out and about when we got there and the shops that were open had well signed C19 measures for distancing, mr gee went into the bakers (only 3 people allowed at a time and 2m apart), to get mum some of their sausage rolls which she's quite partial to :D and an older guy just barged right through the middle of the shop, no mask, no distancing, demanding 'pies' :( the staff were not pleased but mr gee says he thinks perhaps the guy was just 'away with the fairies'

Back home now and contemplating a bit of garden work :)

@gennepher - two interestingly different and fun takes on art work, The first shows what a varied range of tools and effects is available when working digitally (reminded me a bit of how it made me feel going out to a different location this morning!), might have a go at digital myself sometime :) The second is a fine idea for just 'creating' and trying out different, slightly random colour effects, artstorming ;)

@Muddy Cyclist - I absolutely love the finished Sherbrook valley painting, particularly the sky and the area where the tree impinges on the landscape :joyful: I too look forward to more skies ;)

art catch up -
no 1 - possibly the final 'inspired by' a specific artist picture for a while. this is inpired by a Canadian artist called Enda Bardell, I enjoy her colour handling :)

Thank you @geefull
I enjoy playing and learning with the digital app.

You are right, this morning's painting is ideal for artstoming. I just messed with very old paints. There was no pressure for a finished painting but to just see where the different colors being mixed led to. I will have a couple more goes at it yet.

I like the deeper intensity of color on your first painting inspired by Enda Bardell. And the yellow on the left reflected in the clouds.

That is a great rainstorm in painting number two. And the depth of the painting amplified by the darker shoreline rocks on the right. I like it very much.

I promised more big skies so here is number one. Inspired by a walk this morning over Wolseley Estate just a hop skip and jump from my front door, took my Labrador Moet and storm was brewing but sunlight was strong. A4 watercolour 1 hour.

I like that very much. It really portrays the impending thunderstorm. I hope you got home still dry.

No expert, but while i am not dismissing your skills, i can see the foreground is a painting
BUT the clouds look more like a picture.

very effective work, my friend

Thank you @gennepher and @jjraak for your comments re my big skies painting.

Yes got home dry and did not rain until this evening. The afternoon saw huge cumulus clouds building, did some sketches and will attempt to paint them on Wednesday.

@jjraak the clouds are fun to do, wet paper, mix an appropriate dark colour, use large brush, have water spray handy and clean kitchen roll and slap the paint on, mop the paint up, spray it to spread, more mopping and more brushing, chaotic painting with fingers crossed, more luck than skill. :)

Fbg 6.2

Temp 35.4

Dawn is just awakening...
There is one special moment, on the horizon, just about 2 to 3 minutes before dawn (3:50 today where I live) when the sky opened her eyes... now she has shut them again and it’s just a dull grey sky and rain.

We shall see what happens at sunrise, at 4:43...I think where I live....

Have a good day.

Take care.

I am writing out my postcards now for my Postcrossing.

This is one I'm sending, and then I thought do any of you remember the Anderson shelters. That is the one on the left on the side of the postcard, not that fancy fairytale one on the right!

It was sunk into the garden much further down than the one on the left, so you had to go down steps to get into it. There were loads of them all about the place, and in everyone's gardens then. This was a few years after the war and they were still around. Some households used them as gardening sheds....

Good Morning and 5.8 for me today.

Tesco forage again as soon as the open, miss the crowds.

Damp and looking like it's remaining so here.

Enjoy the mystery of your day, stay safe.

I most certainly do, my gramps still had theirs when I was very young :)

6.0 for me this morning and oh what a beautiful storm! Very misty right now but the air is light on the lungs.

Enjoy the day :)

Good morning everyone. Good starts to your days @gennepher and @Muddy Cyclist. All libred up for a 4.5 @5.15 a reflection of 31k steps yesterday (new badge). Slight trust issues with Libre and fitbit but wearables are the new black. I can't fathom why the only device I trust has me at an over hefty 11 S 11 Lbs (almost 75 kgs) when my diet is the same but steps/active minutes massively upped. Unlikely to be muscle I would have thought. Could it be all the supplements I now take? Anyhow, the best all round data/results I had so far was June 2016 at 76 kgs or 12 St. I can't dislodge the earworm Nightswimming by REM this morning. Have a spiffing day chums - I'll take a rain check on the ginger. beer.

My grandparents had one in their garden. It was immaculately grassed over and grandad used it as a potting shed.

Good morning everyone from the desperate excitement of a double bin day in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of a near full English at a later than expected time, especially for the bacon, came in at 4.7 this am - Only one slice of black pudding milord - don’t want to overdo the incy wincy bit of carbs now do we and gasp at those tinned toms.

Bread making yesterday - another tangzhong slurry with the fringe on the top. FibreFlour does seem to need an extra few minutes overtime to do it’s job.
More seedlings planted, some I have no idea as to what they are but that will all be revealed in the goodness of time.
Nice to hear that Boris had his listening trumpet fixed to his head yesterday and that school meal vouchers will continue over the break.
Why do we call isolating for fourteen days a quarantine - which means 40 days - I am now using the word quatorzaine just to annoy everyone.
Better get on, I have an essay to write that simply cannot leave out such words and phrases as ‘micoragression’, ‘unconscious bias’ and ‘the ethicality of denying agency’ themed around putting mother in law into a care home, flying to Madrid for the weekend and only pretending to self isolate on return and the amount of samples consumed so far during my new on line lockdown course, “The Master Sommelier Diploma”.

Have the very best day that you can, koffy calls.

That reception curriculum is a toughy. Wait until you reach year 5.

8.40am FBG 5.8.
extremely late and higher carb than usual dinner last night. 9.30pm
Another thunderstorm, early evening, leading to second flood. The newly dug drainage ditches failed to carry the water away because some pipes were still blocked, so once full they simply overflowed. My nearest english neighbours had reurned, yesterday morning. They were shocked at the new flood damage to their drive. Three households met up in the lane to compare flood stories. English couple aghast at the repeated phrase " this was much less than last time" French couple, still clearing up from last flood, extremely angry that drainage ditches are still blocked. We all went together to french couples house, sat in the garden and continued commiserating over Socially Distanced glasses of wine. Didn't get home until gone 9pm.
In the morning went to town, but shopkeeper very apologetic, vegetable delivery has not arrived. He pointed out several empty spaces on his shelves as proof and said to return thursday. That's all very well,, but I was quite wet and a bit disgruntled. I know it's not his fault. If i could phone first to check it would really help, but my french is still not adequate for phone calls. Although my French neighbour did tell me it has improved.
Courgette slices, salted and supposed to be left for 10 mins got forgotten. Now been left for over 12 hours.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who celebrate national bin day.

This morning a 6.7 an hour later after exersize 6.7 sometimes you wonder.

Well folks if I do this next bit correctly a telling cartoon should be attached. received_688739491688135.jpeg

5.3 this morning.

I now have the measurements of two of the halls I teach in. Luckily Mr K had some graph paper so I could work out how we could all stay 2 metres apart when we eventually start back. I am staying at 2mtrs even if it gets changed to 1 metre.
