What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Always worth keeping a good and reliable garden man. We will need our trees trimming in the autumn but I think that we will ask our youngest son to assist (meaning that I get to hold the ladder).

I hate that, not going back to sleep in case I oversleep, cos I do!
Have a good day @HarryBeau

@gennepher - loved the jolly sea scene, wonderful colours - did you add the brushes to procreate? The sleeping cat is very zen, wonderful brush stroke to get the cat.

Thank you @dunelm
No, I used the Brushstokes already in Procreate, but I am trying to add a couple of new ones to procreate.

The cat is in front of me, and he often looks all black apart from his white whiskers!

Another quick sketch this morning - trying to just do it rather than ponder over it. This from instructions by Cathy Ho

Great chrysanthemums @dunelm

I wish she had done a book on just painting, but I cannot for the life of me find one. But I still have two years of work and photocopies she gave us each week somewhere in a box in the garage!

It was a hard day doing that longer distance driving for the first time in months
I'm so used to driving long distances in all sorts of weather gennepher...I've only done a couple of trips to London in almost six months for social stuff...it feels strange.

It does feel strange doing what we have got out of the habit of doing without a second thought @HarryBeau

And driving there I was very aware and was mentally talking to myself while driving, because the automatic function in my head had fled somewhere.

But driving back, my automatic function had crept out of wherever it was hiding, and was back.

Re Holy Moly: Surely Ocado venture into such high value areas as yours even if deprivation has resulted in no Waitrose

The tidying continues, today starting with the chainsaw. I am heading for the market to buy lettuce plants, among other things. My current plantings are a dismal failure and we are eating shop lettuce and radish.

Digger yesterday and chainsaw today. Proper boys toys envy. I Stihl have a chainsaw but no digger.

Alice Roberts was speculating this morning on R4. that because Neanderthals had cave art first, we Sapiens learnt art from the Neanderthals.
Interesting, I would of thought the creation of tools, some knapped very artistically, with skills by all species of humans would indicate it is inherent in Neanderthals, Sapiens and other large brained humans like Denisovans.

Of course we do have some Neanderthal genes in our genetic make up.

I managed a quick 45 minutes painting but time and life steals the day and I have to leave it. I hope I find time to carry on later but who knows so here is how far I have got. There are 4 circles of ancient Beech trees on the edge of Cannock Chase where the hills drop into the valley and Shugbourgh Estate, I suspect planted by the Anson family. I pass them often on my Mountain Bike and find the many moods they emanate enchanting, some times dark and threatening other times offering safe and secure refuges, this painting is of them in better mood, lots still to do. A4 watercolour.

Why is it your pictures make me want to use my bins and telescope? Great! D.

Chainsaw and buying lettuce plants - sounds like a plan
