Always worth keeping a good and reliable garden man. We will need our trees trimming in the autumn but I think that we will ask our youngest son to assist (meaning that I get to hold the ladder).Morning...an odd start to the week slept so badly on Sunday was shattered yesterday...bed at 1am up at just after 5am had a clinic appointment already rearranged three times so didn't go back to bed in case I overslept...clinic appointment done a quick trip to the shops then rush home for the garden man...three hours later the beast of a hedge cut all debris removed this chap works so hard and turns up on time he's a keeper...I have a mountain of paperwork to do & must do some housework even if that's only to assuage my guilt...haven't tested this morning...completely forgot sitting here in the quiet enjoying the coffee so far a good start to the day...the beasts are out in the garden exploring all the new avenues to next doors garden created now the hedge is cut...expect to hear 'Plumpy' after them shortly...keep safe everyone.

I knew I would have but got through the day & slept last night thanks gennepherin case I oversleep,
Thinking of asking him to relay the lawn Harry had ruined but after the comments he made about it yesterday...worried I might scare him off I'll tread gently.Always worth keeping a good and reliable garden man
@gennepher - loved the jolly sea scene, wonderful colours - did you add the brushes to procreate? The sleeping cat is very zen, wonderful brush stroke to get the cat.
Another quick sketch this morning - trying to just do it rather than ponder over it. This from instructions by Cathy Ho
I'm so used to driving long distances in all sorts of weather gennepher...I've only done a couple of trips to London in almost six months for social stuff...it feels strange. It was a hard day doing that longer distance driving for the first time in months

Re Holy Moly: Surely Ocado venture into such high value areas as yours even if deprivation has resulted in no WaitroseGood morning everyone from a bit of a damp squib in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of Swedish meatballs with leftover cauliflower mash and red cabbage trotted home at 5.3 this am
A walk into town yesterday to do a spot of foraging. Interesting how some shops have things under control and help for the bewildered and some just seem to have hired all the bewildered in the area and then drugged them.
Not sure about today - some back pain so probably be lying on an exercise mat quite soon and then doing some stretching.

@geefull - smashing water colour - full of calmness
@Muddy Cyclist - Wow - I like it a lot and such detail. Dark and dangerous and at the same time friendly and inviting on a hot day. Nice bike BTW.
@ianpspurs - I had to look up the Holy Moley - probably not traveling this far north but will have a look. I do like sumac on my avocado - chicken as well sounds good.

The tidying continues, today starting with the chainsaw. I am heading for the market to but lettuce plants, among other things. My current plantings are a dismal failure and we are eating shop lettuce and radish.

Sorry to hear that John, it is sometimes hard to deal with stuff and it can take a long time.If only fate wasn't a bottom dealing card sharp.
good evening all
was 4.7 this morning
a quiet day at home today, spent some time doing kitchen stuff but haven't done much else
A bit of a grey day but not much rain
Looked out of the window this morning to see a young hare foraging in the weed patch we call our gardenmr gee managed to get a quick pic of it before it loped away I may try a sketch of it at some point if I'm feeling brave enough (all that fine hair on a hare ).
Quite nice to get a few pottering jobs done today
Got a phone call from the groomer to say that she is working again so Katy will be going for a clip next Monday, we have done some trimming ourselves so she doesn't look too much like a walking mophead

Sounds like lots of happy and rewarding outdoor trips, bike rides and walks are being undertaken now, I'm just glad we're getting the chance before the season turns again
Hope your day is treating you kindly
@Alien Aspie - glad that you're feeling a bit better and hoping that it clears up quickly for you
@SlimLizzy - mr gee is envying you the little digger

Nice seascape with the saturated azure sea that belongs to hot weather
