What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.2 this morning after not so good night Asthma decided it had been giving me far to much of an easy time and decided to cut up rough a bit spent most of the night coughing wheezing and struggling a bit. Had to be up early as Melody had to be at the hospital for 8 Am for the first of her appointments. When at the hospital checked my bloods 3.6 so took the drastic action of a foray into the Costa across the road one latte and half a sausage and cheese toastie and then sugars went back up to a reasonable level, honestly I had no choice Costa was the only option available .

Life is a bit different @HarryBeau
I think we need to see the outdoors a little more...

good evening all

was 4.6 this morning

usual visit to mum's for sunday mid afternoon meal, sunny but with definitely a chillier wind today. Made homemade rum and raisin ice cream for pudding

loads of visitors about yesterday and today in the village including a group of travelling motorbike riders, all very friendly

Hope your day is treating you kindly

@gennepher - an impactful painting if a little sad. Interesting how you're getting to grips with layers, Procreate seem to be quite a program shame it isn't available for Android, I may have a look at Krita, it's suppposed to be a very capable tool.

@dunelm - I really like your very effective minimal landscape today, great form and texture

@Muddy Cyclist - lovely landscape and the light on the heather is very well observed, it glows even if the lighting is subdued Enjoy the Peak district.

@Alien Aspie - Thank you for the guidance on layers, it's a while since I used them much

here is the hare, done in a mixture of watercolour and watercolour pencil, based on a photo mr gee took.
it took a while

@dunelm Tryfan in all it's glory, I never was brave enough to make that leap between Adam and Eve. Used to love seeing the RAF jets flying below us and making that 90 degree turn down the valley towards the sea. Nice impression of a magnificent mountain.

A long day, a good walk which took longer than I remember but got in some quick A4 pencil sketches, Plein Air of Hen Cloud for my next Heather Painting, not sure which I shall use.

I think that the most important thing is the blood sugars staying steady all day - so you are doing really well, and I agree that this has definitely contributed to your excellent eye health.

I have also experienced much steadier blood sugars with only 2 meals a day - which is going to be much harder to do as my daughter and family are here for the next few days.

Congratulations, this is going so well for you and should certainly help your fasting blood sugars as you have probably already burned away any fat around your liver and pancreas. Brilliant.
Thank you - I am sure you are right and I have already burned off a significant amount of fat around my liver and pancreas. I think I would like to lose a bit more weight just in case there is more lurking there.

That's very impressive all the hard work paying off, brilliant.

I seemed to have halted at 12 stone, I was 11stone 7lbs before lockdown, went a tad over 12 stone during it. Up to now I have not had to count the calories just carbs. I think the times come to take note of your example and look at my calorie intake, not going to be easy.

Thank you @geefull
I have an Android phone (which is my actual text phone), and like you found no Procreate for it
But I downloaded something called Painter, which is similar ish to Procreate. I will have to look up Krita, not seen that one.

Oh wow, that is beautiful. I can imagine it did take quite awhile.

It reminds me of Beatrix Potter.
I am going to bid on eBay this morning on some Beatrix Potter postcards!

Thank you @Krystyna23040

It is easier to stick to your eating plan when there are no different/extra people around.

Enjoy your daughter and family.
Have a good time.

Grey clouds again, but they might reveal the sun in a bit.

Cat has hiccups and is looking bewildered. How do you stop a cat having hiccups

My painting in Procreate which I started yesterday afternoon and finished just before I went to sleep, there is something I don't like about one bit of it. It has already taken over 20 layers (how?), and I am working on it now, so a couple more layers to correct what I don't like. It has already taken 3 hours!

Be back in a bit....
