What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It was actually a big shock seeing that mail there (I had been anxious about the expensive package), obviously delivered in the early hours by whomever. That is possible @Alien Aspie

Hugs for you and your family, for the ridiculousness over the pond. It is unbelievable watching this unfold....

It has been too much for Jenn, she was admitted to hospital yesterday with chest pains. Jenn is autistic like me but unlike me, she is politically aware. Apparently she had a full-on meltdown that has spiralled. The hospital doesn't think her heart is the problem and that it is more to do with her clinical depression. She was reported to be resting and ok an hour ago.

The world is generally not a safe space for those of us who do not conform to societies 'norm', not just autistics, and the US has become a frightening place for her and my other friends.

Sorm across the valley - such a big open space and well constructed. Thank you for your comments about my colouring in.

Oh that’s not good and I hope that she pulls out of her dark place soon. I hope she has someone who can go and sit with her.

Birch tree in foreground is excellent. I like the tantalising bright spot across the fields, framed by the tree line and that hint of a forest in the backgroud and the threat of a storm

I get that. Poor Jenn. The world at the moment has too many stresses and strains, with all the changing rules and regulations with Covid that are impossible for anyone to keep up with or adhere to. Our bodies cannot cope with all this, and in addition being politically aware and all its implications with the situation in the State at the moment, with its potential consequences is far too much for any human being to cope with. Especially for one who is sensitive. I hope Jenn gets all the support she needs.

A few days ago, I couldn't even lift my legs to get into my car to go to the shops, and I had to get back in my bungalow. I could barely get back in. Once inside my bungalow, I could barely move, It was like I was in a spider web, or thick treacle. It went on all day and I just lay in bed. Cat Popeye kept trying to move me, patting my face, trying to get me to move my hands with his paws. I felt such a fool, and I never mentioned it on here or to anyone, because I felt so stupid. Fortunately I had no other pains, otherwise my mind might have taken me to a bad place. It took me baby steps to move again the next day. I presume now, that was a depression, and I can never allow myself to go there again.

Jenn needs love, kindness, care, and whatever it is she needs to get her back on track again. My prayers are for her and your family @Alien Aspie

Good morning everyone on a bit of a damp squib of a post bonfire night in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of more spiced and roasted cauliflower came in at 5.0 this am

Today’s picture was painted with a cut down brush, a stubble brush if you like, with not much ink on it to keep it fairly dry. Zen style - with the ink laid in only a minute or two without stopping . Background colour added after.
Hope everyone is OK and managing to keep themselves busy. Time for koffy.

I will catch up with back posts later. I am trying to get psyched up to go to the shops this morning, because I didn't make it a few days ago.

Fbg by the way was 6.2

Thank you. She will be ok, it's rare for her to have a full meltdown. Getting older also brings experience in monitoring ourselves and removing ourselves from any ongoing irritation. Sometimes the logic doesn't work and the state of the US shows little in the way of logic and fewer safe spaces. I'm grateful that my autism is restricted to social interactions, I'm low risk.

Sorry to hear you were struggling too, it's a crazy world. Popeye is a good friend. Glad you're ok now.

Thank you.

Interesting technique with the cut down and dry brush. A fine ink drawing done in a few moments of what must have been frenzied motion.

Morning all. Having caught up with 2 pages of posts I am wondering just where to go with this post. Hugs for Jenn @Alien Aspie and for our Genn @gennepher. Shame about the clock @Muddy Cyclist but absolutely take it to be repaired. The guy is working from home and handover both ways can easily be as safe as possible. Excellent news about the zoom classes @Krystyna23040 and about your fbg and ketones @Alien Aspie. Another good fbg @karen8967 but it is Friday so meme time please hun @dunelm I hope the ankle is starting to heal and coordinating feeding with medication routine isn't spoiling bg control over much . Here, it is Super Salmon Salad day which is just about the zenith of my current iteration of LCWOE ™. As for the clusterwhatsit/slow motion car crash unfolding in the US of A (and here? fulough extension NOT for Brexit, my backside) my take has been the same for some time now. A total failure to accept how and why 2008 happened thus scrambling around trying to shore up a wreck leading to increasingly bizarre actions and leaders. These last few days we seem to have truly jumped the shark. So, I'm pinning my hopes on D:Ream

,
It’s OK not to be OK - I hope that your day, today, is a good one

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.

I call the BBC'S weather forecast " The bbc's work of science fiction and fantasy. "

I am now thinking of calling the BBC's news website
" The bbc's work of speculation, depression and misinformation. "

5.6 on the meter of misbehaving and naughtiness.

What are my fellow posters and painters planning for today? Interesting stuff I hope, probably a good day to grab some vitamin D and fresh air, while away from the media.

Mrs J has declared that today will be a day of rest......For her maybe, for me and me's who knows.
Have a great day all.

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist - the idea is to try and compose in your head and then just let it go.
The brush on the right of this picture shows how short these stiff bristles are compared to a regular brush of similar size

Thank’s Ian - the swelling is beginning to go down and the dark red mark on my ankle is turning yellow - signs of healing and now in the realms of a minor irritation - a few more days of antibiotics will hopefully see it’s demise. Nadhim Zahawi, king of incompetence, has just been on the box procrastinating and avoiding the point about small business owners who, he thinks, willl be drawing dividends - must put that to my window cleaner as he is bound to have registered with Companies House. The man ought to be with the car crash crew over the pond - a poem by the wonderful John Cooper Clark springs to mind - four letters, beginning with the letter T.

Here it is ian im getting very forgetful in my old age
