5.1 today, self inflicted, not enough exercise and too much food yesterday
We had to dig out the car this morning so we were out almost an hour later than usual for shopping, doesn't seem to have made any difference, when we got to Lidl they had only just opened because the staff had problems getting into the store with the deliveries. All the shops were very quiet
We did get more snow overnight but the plough was round early so, with care, we got to the nearest town without too much trouble. We had about 8 inches or so of snow here.
One advantage of getting to town later meant we were still out at 10.00am so we boosted our alcohol stock too(can't buy alcoholic beverages before 10.00am here).
The weather was cold and sunny today so we went straight over to Mum's after shopping with her stuff and took our snow shovels. she had about 12 inches of snow there so it took us a while to clear our way to the house and shed. that's got to count as outdoor exercise right?Katy made the most of it, she loved pouncing on the snow scoop and 'poofing' the snow everywhere, she ended up like a snowball

Your abstract sunrise has worked out really well, I love the way the colours contrast and play off each other
art bit - thought I'd have another go at the rock pools down towards the harbour, especially after the generally accepted 'bunch of bananas' feel to the picture last time I tried

The wonder wheel of roast cod with some green beans and a bit of salad came in at 5.2 this am
Phone call - “would you like your diabetic review moved to this Thursday?” - Yes I would.
“How about 0820?” - no thanks, I would have to get up a 6 in order to get my long johns on and dig out a string vest.
“Oh, OK, how about 1120?” - smashing, thank you for your understanding, see you at 1120.
@gennepher - beautiful light bouncing of the water and reflecting on the walls, awaiting the music of Mendelssohn.
@Muddy Cyclist - Abstract sunrise - yes, they plant you to the spot when you are up early to see them, smashing.
@geefull - Rock pools, definitely not bananas, good landscape.

Thanks for the painting compliment @ianpspursSeems as though it is a bright but bleakly cold last hurrah? for winter 2020/21 all over.My Swipey is bouncing about like Tigger on speed but I'll go 5.1 as a rough guestimate. Meanwhile the wilderness/bear hunt vibe is a thing but We can't go over it. We can't go under it. Oh no! We've got to go through it! Little voice whispers as an antidote to the bleakness of Ecclesiastes look for the love. Boom. @dunelm's humour amid grief, @gennepher's wonderful dawn artwork, the puppydogs sheer joy at seeing me each morning, yesterday's Valentine's day meal, the vaccination today and so much more. One way or another my journey will become much tougher so I'll need to lean on the love of others then but by the Grace of God I need to do a better job of recognising and reflecting that love back. Thank you @lindisfel and @Muddy Cyclist for helping understand the lesson.

Making Oak Trees happy at the start of the day and art of the moment, lovely.Fbg 6.9
I went out to put the wheelie just as dawn spread across the horizon....
Minus 5C out there.
Came back in sharpish.
So I did the dawn at the end of my road, added a few trees. The old solitary oak tree looks best/dramatic on its own with the rising sun behind it, so I am sure it won't mind a few trees for company in my digital painting today, but maybe this old solitary oak tree dreams at night when it was part of a forest...

Wasn't that four halves?Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who remember playing hopscotch when in their first childhood.
This going to be a posting of 3 halves. Me and me's will have to break off and make Mrs J's early morning tea.
2nd half
2 readings this morning 4.1 and a little later 4.8, whoops calculation time again, steam driven electric sliderule and teabag reading then a guess.
Third half
Me and me's had the Oxford covid jab yesterday administered in Reading, a bit of a relief because Mrs J didn't want to take me and me's to Oxford. A rather well organised procedure. The doctor and nurse explanned the possible side effects including a stiff arm when injected in said arm. Then me and me's thought about the surname of somebody in the queue waiting for the jab Todger, best say nothing, grateful about wearing a mask and leave the building quickly.
4th half
