What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hope the chemo goes well today. I agree that we are lucky we live in an age where it available.
No doggy ice cream in Tesco. Never mind - we still have one left they can share and hopefully this will be the last really hot day this year.

Thanks @Krystyna23040. Shame there was no doggy ice cream. Some boxes of chocolates are like that, all soft centres and even those not caramel.

Hello friends

Fbg yesterday was 5.5 and today 5.9

Went over to visit a friend at home today as she had emergency bowel surgery due to a horrible infection a few weeks ago, and they have put in a temporary stoma bag. She's doing OK but it all happened so quickly poor thing. It's scary how things can suddenly change in your life

Anyway, hope everyone had a wonderful day. Stay safe xx

Thank you.
Hugs @ianpspurs
Hope yesterday went well for you.

Yes, very sad about the 9 year old.

Glad your keyboard is now behaving Alf

Robin now owns your garden @dunelm

Mysterious steps from aeons past...

I hope that yesterday went well for you and that any adverse effects can be covered by mugs of tea. My Sister reported that her first round of chemo made her quite ill the next day but this round of a different kind seems a lot kinder to her.

Nasty but I think it is a good job that they were able to do something for her. Let us hope that they will be able to quickly progress with getting her better.

Good morning everyone on what looks to be a bit cooler than the tropical mugginess of yesterday here in the dark and dangerous north. It did rain last night so I do hope that every garden gets a fair share. We had Northumbrian Water visit yesterday to take samples out of our tap. Random houses in their catchment to test water quality. Should we be afraid or pleased? We are quite lucky up here. Our water comes mainly from Kielder Reservoir, delivered down huge underground pipes, originally to feed the now mainly defunct steel industry. Girl in the bubble when we collect her from nursery. That robin has certainly commandeered our garden @gennepher. Art bit - adding a bit more to yesterdays post. Have a great day if you can, I am going to put the bins out and then make some koffy.

Fbg 6.5

I was so tired when I got home yesterday.
Midnight had missed me.
I am rarely out all day. And when I went out to see him on the swing he had his back turned to me. By the way, there is nothing to stop him coming indoors through the cat flap for the day if I am out.
All 8 fatball feeders had been emptied during the day. But I was too tired, so I only refilled 2 of them (those right by the swing), and then sat on the swing with Midnight.
As soon as I sat down, as if in a cloud a whole flock of pied wagtails came out of the trees and bushes in my garden. Diving and swooping and feeding off the fatball feeders in front of me. So close. They were beautiful to watch.
I sat there quietly for an hour observing them, all the while scritching Midnight on the head and chin until he came around!
Normally a flock of different birds only stay in the garden 5 minutes or so before they fly off.
Just like I can tell differences of shape and character in sparrows now (with watching them so much), I was realising the differences in these pied wagtails, in the design of their colours and arrangement of feathers, and they way they flicked their tail feathers in a different distinct manner.
These wagtails stayed an hour,
An hour of relaxations and chilling out for me...

Creative this morning, a kaleidoscope in Laboscope, of parts of my vegetable garden and the white is the garage door again!

Taking it easy today. I need the peace. And quiet, and no people. Definitely no people.
But I do need to go out to pop my prescription in to the shoe box technology. Online ordering is still not working.

Another cuppa?

Have your best day.

Good job about those huge underground water pipes being built years ago.
Now all you need is the water to fill them...

Great Art bit. Where do those steps take you, I wonder @dunelm
To some mysterious room, no longer there...

6.0 this morning. I think that I will 'gloss over ' the reason why I have a higher fbs than I normally do. Or perhaps I will just say 'no comment '

Very wild outside at the moment. Thunder and lightning and probably a month's worth of rain in the last couple hours. Definitely no dog walking until later today.

That is really scary. I do hope that your friend makes a complete recovery.

Hello everyone from a soggy Breckland after a humdinger of a thunderstorm. Thunderbolt and lightning, very, very frightening style of thing. Thanks for the good wishes for yesterday. Very hard to assess the after effects since the humidity and thunderstorm meant I had a poor night's sleep imho but fitbit thought otherwise. Major impact seems to be a huge thirst , currently on 4th 750 ml mug of tea, and slight hoarseness. Next time I'll take water and avail myself of much more of the free tea. It is quite a long process but yesterday was painless. @dunelm those steps are progressing wonderfully. @gennepher yes, avoid people as far as possible today and thank you for another impressive kaleidoscope. Hug for the higher fbg @Krystyna23040 but 6 isn't a disaster and a little of what you fancy does you good so "they" say. Two grandchildren are here today but at some stage I may have a nap. Best wishes for any loved ones, relatives or children of friends collecting GCSE results today after so much disruption.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who celebrate the joy of life.
The same again as yesterday a 5.2 on that meter of etc, etc.
Well fellow posters and painters and now for a new category “ and all those undergoing medical procedures “ it seems the retort should also be and “ here’s to a successful recovery “.
.
Here in Tilehurst Towers we are having wonderful tropical rain, much desired, this desire is purely selfish on my part I want the roads washed with heavy rain so I can commit motorcycling, which of course enables me to indulge in the fine art of eating vegan bacon sarnies while drinking koffy and pontificating on motorcycling with other like minded bikers. Never mind the crop and flower growing folk.
.
Well it’s time to write stay safe and for those sarf of Watford ( norf of Watford is the dark and dangerous norf ) stay dry if you can.
Hand and footnote
It appears naked rain dancing works, on this occasion!

I sincerely wish all the best and wonder just how many miles would you be able to ride on a motorcycle after drinking all that tea, your bladder must be the size of an olympic swimming pool hehehe.
I was given some very good advice after my transplant by the doctor who wrote the book on transplants which me being me ignored and proved him right. Here is the advice.
The time to rest up and do nothing is when you feel like doing something, it enables the body to devote all it’s energy to recovering.
Recover well

Thanks Alf. Actually only 1 mug more than usual by this time. I'll take that advice on board and swerve a HIIT session today. Busy day today what with it being national bin day AND national burger day.
